Air Force guy: "How old is your daughter?"
Mum: "20."
Air Force guy: "I thought she was 12."

Random person: "How old are you?"
Me: "22"
Random person: *Laughs* "I thought you were my age" (16-18)

At least I had my own ID.

These days...

Random stranger 1,2,3,4,5- 90: "How old are you?"
Me: "25"
Random stranger one: REALLY?
Random stranger 45: "No...no way."
Random stranger 54: "Seriously?"

Most people I meet make a comment about how young I look. I joke around with bouncers who check my ID. I get along better with kids because of my young looks. I can get along with my niece's friends because I look just like one of them and even talk that way, just without the slang.

I get asked about what school I go to or whether I'm studying in University. If I was I'd be a mature aged student.

Many people told me that I look much younger than my real age.
My face is youngish (I must shave that little facial hair I have because it causes skin irritation) and I am short. Plus, the clothes I wear. People told me that with different clothes I might look older but I just can't wear that stuff, I feel so stiff in that and move like a robot.

Yes. And it hindered me greatly. People always assumed I had less experience than I did and talked down to me. I was passed over based on this. Sure my ASD did not help but my niche is faking it at work. So I can't fully blame ASD. The young look has likely been a factor.

I've had that said to me as well I get annoyed so I just say old enough now.
My Mum reckons its not insulting like when someone says someone's too skinny or fat but to me its the same thing its just as rude as far as I'm concerned.

I look younger than my age. It has both advantages and a LOT of annoyances.
Good: the guys at the guessing booth at the state fair almost always guess wrong and I get a big prize or a lady hands me big samples of candy or cake in a grocery store.
But that's about it, for the most part it's just plain annoying! Examples:
People think my sister and I are twins; she's 13 and I'm in my (very) early twenties!
When I go to cash my pay check people think I'm cashing my parents' pay checks and tell me what a sweet little girl I am for helping them out.
The most insulting is when I tell people how old I really am, most of them look out right shocked! You know, mouths agape, eyes about to come out of their heads like that.
I even showed people a pic from when I was twelve, the thought it was taken a year or two ago!

Some article mentioned that the DHEAS does not decrease in the Autistics over aging, like it does in the NTs and that might explain it.

Maybe because we don't use our facial muscles as much,that causes laugh lines(which are ok,I think Mark Twain said wrinkles should indicate where smiles have been).
I look younger.I always joke that that portrait I had done was worth every penny,but I'm so quiet and boring it wouldn't be aging much either.

Oh this is blowing my mind, I've had the same problem of disrespect because of how young I look. People ask me if my son is mine or my brother, people have even refused to believe the age on my ID.

I'm turning thirty in a month and am routinely mistaken for a high school student, 15 or 16.

I'm about to turn 32 and people always think I am still a teenager. I also get the goggle eyes and mouths agape when I tell people how old I am (and at my job, my co-workers wouldn't believe me until I showed them my driving license with my date of birth on it). I don't really mind this, as I feel younger than I am and am very socially naive, so it's even a bit of relief that people don't expect the level of social ability and life experience from me that someone in their 30s would usually have.

For some reason there does seem to be something of a tendency toward larger, wide-set eyes and a "baby face" in autistic people (I've noticed people who've worked with a number of autistic people often say this). As genetic factors seem to be one aspect of autism it's possible there is some genetic link with these traits. However, I think some of this phenomenon is simply down to the natural expressions worn by autistic people - a wide-eyed dreamy, distant or bewildered look is common because of the way people with ASDs experience the world. This will give an air of youthfulness even to people who might otherwise look their age, and people who have a more age-neutral appearance will be assumed to be younger.

I'm 24, but people say I look about 16-17. When I was 22, me and another friend were talking when we got on the conversation about licenses. I said I didn't have my license yet, and was about to add that I was going to get my permit, but her sister can in and interrupted and said "Why, you're not old enough yet?"

Yes and I hate it.

I was once pulled over by police because I was in a liquor store when I was 23.

I feel like I'm gonna get carded for the rest of my life.

I've been getting a lot of compliments from relatives and friends about how young I look. They say I look like I'm 16 (I'm actually 25). My mom keeps saying that girls would kill to have my looks. If that is true, then I wonder what I'll look like in my later years? Only time will tell...

I'm in my 60's. I have a "baby face" with wrinkles.

I'm 23 however I can pass for a teen, its a good thing since now that I sort of have the emotional mentallity and intrests of one I can in fact still pass for one!, unlike most of my old high school counterparts.

When I was 8, I was tall enough that some people thought I was 12. When I was 12, someone thought I was 16 because of my height, but most people actually got my age right. I'm 15 now, and people's guesses range from 13 to 23. Apparently I look like I'm 35 in my passport photo, but only 12 in another photo taken on the same day. It's confusing.

Yeah, I do look young, but so do my parents. It's in my genes.
