I wear the same pair of jeans almost every day. They are comfortable and I don't like changing what I'm wearing.

This doesn't make me dirty, I have laundry in my house and I wash them frequently, and keep myself clean as well.

Recently I've started to realize that maybe people notice that I'm always wearing the same pants. It took me a while to realize this, because I don't really notice what other people are wearing, so if they're wearing the same thing I probably won't be able to tell. But doesn't theory of mind teach us that maybe other people think differently from us and therefore, maybe other people actually pay attention to clothes and maybe they notice that I'm always wearing the same pair of pants?

I change my shirt every day, and only occasionally if the people who saw me the day before will be different from the people I will see the next day, I will wear the same shirt twice in a row.

If I'm home and not going anywhere I'm always in my pajamas, so I'm not constantly wearing the same pair of pants, it's just that people who see me might notice that I'm always wearing the same pair of pants.

Should I care? Is anyone else similar?

As a Brit, I thought you meant ''pants'' as in ''underwear'', but I realised that you call trousers ''pants'' in America. :)

Trousers don't usually smell so quick or so bad, so you could pass it off as having lots of the same pair, if people notice that much.

I wear the same pair of trousers for about 4 days then I change to another pair.

They notice it at my work for sure and they never miss an opportunity to comment on it. :x
I don't notice what others are wearing.
I don't know if you should care. I think it depends on whether you need to keep a certain image up.

Ha ha, I don't want people to think I don't change my underwear. I do change my underwear. I edited the topic title to say "jeans" instead of "pants". Hopefully that will clear up confusion.

Also, I have a professor who is british and he uses the term "pants" to mean the same as "rubbish", almost like a curse word. So when you guys are saying "that's pants" it's kind of like you're saying "that's underwear". :P

Interesting post. I do the same thing with pants. I have three pair of long pants and several pair of short pants that are the ones I wear the most. Since I am a school teacher, I alternate between my khakis and dark greenish dress pants. Do people notice? I don't know. Like you, I keep them clean with laundering.

I can see where wearing the same shirt day after day would probably be noticed---because it's hard to find two shirts alike in most settings. But with pants, many look alike anyway. For us teachers, it's going to be black, khaki, brown, or blue dress pants (the most common ones). And I feel it's the shirt that makes the big difference in one's looks.

One teacher in our building admitted to me last year that he wore the same pair of black pants everyday. And when they wear out, he'll buy another pair like them.

Oops, I just noticed the topic title was for jeans. I thought it was all pants. Sorry. But I will leave my post the way I wrote it because I tend to wear the same jeans over too.

I usually only have one pair of jeans at a time. I will have a "back-up" pair that I will wear if my comfy ones are dirty...but they never feel the same. I wear my one pair of jeans when I go out, and I change my shirt every day if I am going somewhere. It's only recently that I realized people noticed what I am wearing. I don't notice clothing and I honestly assumed that others didn't either. I have a black hoodie sweatshirt that I wear...I've worn it almost every day (not all day) for at least 10 years. I clean it and I always have shirts under it, so it mostly just gets smelling like smoke if anything. Around my house I like wearing grey sweat pants...again I've had the same two pairs for around ten years. The best part, is they came from the psych ward that I had been in and I didn't have much to wear when I came out so I stole them.

I do this too. I only own three or four pairs of jeans, and two of them are too big for me, so I only wear one or two pairs most of the time. I don't care if people notice and think whatever thoughts they think when they notice. Jeans get more and more comfortable as you wear them more and more.

Some people do. But if you're washing them regularly and/or alternating pants, fewer people will care as you'll still smell descent.

I wear the same type of pants (the only brand that fit well and look decent) but I buy them in multiple colors and rotate through them wearing different shirts so it feels like I am wearing the same pants every day.

My high school music teacher wore the same black pants every day and some students were talking behind his back about it, so others do notice. He caught on and made a joke that he washed and pressed them every day.

As a woman, my wardrobe's always been pretty spare and simple. I'm wearing my go-to jeans right now. I can also appreciate living in pajamas at home. I'd wear pajamas all the time if I could.

The only people who really notice that I wear the same jeans for almost a week before changing them are my family members. If I'm going to a formal occasion, of course I'll change into nice clothes. Otherwise I don't care what others think ("others" being people you'll probably only see once in your lifetime, like strangers in the supermarket).

I go through phases where I get really comfortable wearing the same thing. I call it my uniform. No matter what I wear it's usually a variation on the same theme anyway.

I'm reminded of a (Far Side?) comic I saw once which was divided into several panels. In each of the first several panels, we see each day of the week for a schoolteacher, who is wearing exactly the same thing each day. Then in the last panel, we see him at his closet, where there are 7 copies of the outfit that he was wearing all week.

Haha, but seriously, I don't think people notice pants; I don't notice what people wear, anyway. Hopefully they don't, as I've been wearing the same pair outside the house all week (they still seem pretty clean to me, and at home I generally wear PJs, instead, like the OP).

The only people I think might notice would be my friends, and even then we don't see each other every day. Maybe twice or three times a week and even then not always for an extended length of time. Potentially my classmates who are in classes with me a bit more often might notice, but I don't really care. I feel like as long as I keep myself clean, it shouldn't matter.

And all of my shirts are very similar. I don't vary much in my clothing choice at all.

I have seven navy blue t-shirts, and 7 pairs of blue jeans. All exactly the same 8)

I usually wear the same jeans everyday and wash them occasionally. I soak them so they don't shrink. They're getting tight as I build up muscles.

No one says anything. They might comment on me wearing the same jacket or shirt. I tend to wear a different short each day. I hate getting all smelly in them and I have so many jackets that I wear the same one maybe three times in a row.
