pinhole glasses for my sensitive eyes?

hi there,

I know I am sensitive to light, and I wear eye glasses since I was 10. The diopters increased year by year. Now i got nearly -6.00 which really frightens me. What will they be in 20 years?

I have now read at myopia.org that pinhole glasses might help to improve my eyes and stop or reduce my nearsightedness. Has anyone ever tried them out?

i have a pair floating around someplace. the last time i tried them, i found the number of pinholes to be insufficient for any but a coarsely segmented field of vision, but within that constraint they reduced my astigmatism substantially. they are not suitable for outdoor things like driving or biking, but for computer work they are adequate and a good alternative to a prescription in some cases.
