After being prescribed a couple of antipsychotic drugs i still have side effects 3 years after i stopped. Its really getting me down and thats not the only thing that's down if you see where i am (cough) coming from!! ! Dont worry moderator i wont name the drugs, or slander any shrinks, however please message me if you too have experienced long term side effects. (like life wasnt "hard" enough for us already!! !

I requested all my notes from the Dr and he gave me the notes my shrink wrote up and it says that the drugs cause erectile disfunction!! !! !! !

Now, i wouldnt mind if i could stop taking these drugs and things returned back to normal. BUT THEY HAVEN'T....3 YEARS LATER!! !

ok so we aspies are anxious and paranoid anyway but i have given this a LOT of thought, and i have reached 3 different conclusions, all plausible in my opinion

1) These drugs are designed so that it permanently reduces our sex drive so it looks like the drug has actually calmed us down therefore increasing drug companies sales
2) The drug companies and the government dont want mentally ill people reproducing (this is pretty paranoid also, however it IS possible in todays cynical age
3) The drugs are just designed very poorly with no long term trials and just cause this problem, in which case, i WANT COMPENSATION.

If there are more people with this ISSUE out there, please i would LOVE to hear from you.....Lets end this silent suffering and expose this.....

Peace & Love to all my fellow Aspies.

Richard. (UK)

Oh and also, i think that the drug companies need to do better with the treatment of ASD....i took E, Speed and Weed over the years to treat my symptoms. The Ecstacy / MDMA could be adjusted so it doesnt get us so high and doesnt have any adverse effects (or minimised) to the point that we could live without fear and be happy!! !....

Ecstacy is being looked at as a cure for cancer as we speak.....

Speed helped me to speak to people in clubs and TOTALLY come out my shell....i loved this new found confidence.

Also the weed just made me really paranoid but i did get really high for 15 years lol and put loads of weight on so it didnt really help but i bet there are loads of you out there who have self medicated over the years.. please god when will proper treatment be available to us persecuted beautiful and senstive ASPIES

ASPIES UNITE..............Peace and love....xxx

I have bizarre visual distortions from anitidepressants 31 years (!) after stopping them. When people move their hands or arms I have to look away because my brain can't process the visual data of the moving hands. I can't drink alcohol and watch TV at the same time because people's arms elongate on the screen.

How do you know that's from the antidepressants, have you seen the optimitrist / optician about this?

If it was me and i was sure it was from the pills i would find the local drug regulation body to take it further but to be honest its very expensive and drawn out process to sue a shrink or a drug company and they will prob just say it was from something else and its hard to prove etc.

I do sympathise, go see a specialist, it might be something else, i hope.

Best wishes,

Richard, King of the Aspies. (who are soon to unite and get MDMA's cousin to treat our ASD symptoms, lol)

Well I have never taken anti-psychotics.....but I've taken anti-depressants, it only took them 4 weeks to really screw me up I still feel like I have not recovered.

lol I guess in my case anti-depressants should be called pro-psychotics, that pretty much sums up what they did.
