There is some question as to whether or not the condition of a person's earlobes indicates that they have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

(Link)

This un-scientific poll is intended not to simply answer the question, but provide some basis for forming one's own opinion on the matter without relying on hearsay, rumor, or someone else's subjective opinion. Please choose one of the responses.

Thank you.

Believe or not, there are not enough options. First, my earlobes are significantly different. My left earlobe is almost detached, whereas the right one is almost attached. Also, both are slightly "cupped", like in the above picture here:

However, the top curve of my right ear overlaps a bit more than the right, and I have relatively small earlobes.

I've selected the "other" option - I've got detached earlobes and am NT.

That is why I included: "Other earlobe/ASD combination: ________________ (Please explain)."

This is covered under: "I have dettached earlobes, and no official diagnosis of ASD."

Mine are detached. I was always great at acting out the song, 'do your ears hang low.'

The categorization places AS people without official diagnoses in the same category as NT.

My earlobes are attached.

I believe I'm having considerable difficulties with this condition but am unsure of how my medical records might affect my prospects of success in life.

:(

I have attached earlobes and an official diagnosis of Asperger's.

And your point is ... ?

While someone without an official diagnosis may have AS, they also may not have AS, or may just as easily have some other, totally unrelated medical, mental, or emotional issue. Only a diagnosis by a trained and licensed mental-health professional can confirm the presence of AS in a person.

Since this poll is concerned only with determining an ad hoc correlation between AS and earlobe state, then those are the two combinations that it's focused upon.
