I don't know whether to believe autism occurs from lack of blood supply or supply of detrimental elements to the baby or not. My mom had severe toxemia with me and other women have toxemia and their kids are NT or appear NT anyway. What are everyone else's thoughts on this?

Who cares what causes it? It's not like we can get cured.

I believe that's one way it could happen. I had Rh disease in the womb, was delivered by c-section before labour and had to have a blood transfusion while in the womb. Some of it could be genetic too. My dad was very AS and his traits go throughout the whole family. I'm the only one diagnosed with autism though.

I have NVLD, and my mom said out of all the kids, she ate best with me. My sister after me had spinabifida, and my sister after that was born somewhat early. So me, it's odd that I turned out with problems, considering my mom had the best habits with me. It's also possible that I got my NVLD from my mother eating well and stuff, since my verbal IQ is 130+, just the other IQ didn't grow with it. If my mom just ate like she didn't care, it's entirely possible both my IQs could be at like 90 or something, and I'd be "normal."

i dont think it does; autism is genetic, it happens at conception, and conditions of the womb can't affect that, except maybe smoking at very early stages in pregnancy
