...In real life, or on some tv show that just immediately strikes you as someone reminds you of yourself, same or opposite gender, who has that goofy nerdy demeanor or vacant stare, monotone strange sounding voice, and different arm and body movements and posture.

What do you think? Can you spot it in other people? I think for the most part I can. I think the sound of the voice gives it away.

I always wonder if that is how I come across as.

That's one question I wonder about...tone of voice.

Do all Aspies have a monotone voice? If so then I would need to rule the possibility of an ASD out as I have a voice that I can use to mimic and do impressions with so it is far from monotone. I also have a very loud voice apparently as I get told I speak too loudly but I have learned to quieten it down just a notch so I don't deafen everybody lol

I have been told I can pull weird facial expressions as well, sort of exaggerated, although I am not always aware that I am doing this lol. So I don't always have a lack of facial expression either. Although I can do in some ways but apparently not in others, people just say my face is either not animated enough or it is over animated lol so I swing from one extreme to the other I think depending on the context or circumstances.

I think syntax has alot to do with the sound of voice. For some reason, using my normal "unfiltered" voice, I cannot speak clearly at a soft volume. It always comes across as "barging out" and louder than it should be.

That's something I'm wondering about too, because I have never spoken with a monotone.

For what it's worth I've been professionally diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder and I don't have a monotone voice.

My voice is muffled, not monotone.

I have exaggerated facial expressions too and I do them without noticing, like I use a surprised face when I'm happy and look really down or angry when just thinking.

The only time I have a monotone voice is when I'm extremely angry. Other times, I have a very expressive voice, though my facial expressions are often somewhat "muffled."

I think I am very good at picking out fellow Aspies.

Come to think of it, maybe there are times when I speak with a bit of a monotone, when I really don't want to talk to someone and feel like I'm being forced into a conversation.
