Most of the time I will say "I am autistic", however I also often say "I have autism". I know that some people have a problem with the latter, saying that it's not something you have, but something you are- it's a part of you. But the way I see it, I can also say "I HAVE brown eyes" (I am brown-eyed), or "I HAVE a shy disposition" (I am shy), "I HAVE an interest in wildlife" (I am interested in wildlife).

I think both are neutral, I have no real preference.

Mostly I'd say "I am on the autistic spectrum" and occasionally "I am autistic". Voted for the former.

I tend to say, "I have Asperger's Syndrome," around those who don't know what AS is, but if it is someone who does know, I'll just say "I'm an Aspie."

Usually: I have Aspergers' syndrome, which is a form of high- functioning autism. Or, if the person knows about AS: I have Aspergers.

I usually say: I am the autism spectrum. Most people are pretty ignorant and I think saying it that way sheds some light on how different one can be from the next (in personality, and functioning).

I don't like to say to anybody about being on the spectrum, but if I have to, I just say ''I am on the Autistic spectrum''. I only admit it to doctors, employment advisors and therapists. Well, I have no choice but to mention it somehow, because that's the only way I can receive help.

I usually just say "I am autistic". Occasionally I will say, "I have autism". I never use any of the other options (I don't say 'autism spectrum' since my actual diagnosis is 'autism' alone.)
