I got a 39 - it would probably be much higher if I hadn't taken so many classes in psychology that taught me to read people's body language . . .

I beleive my incident of recent depression has enabled me to see into others minds (or rather understand them more).

Also, my dad taught me this summer that smiling is a sign of "love" and not (as I thought before) just a sign of weirdness or a threat.

Smiling when you're concerned about someone gets you everywhere

My score keeps going up. The first time I took it, I got a 16 (below the control group average by 0.6!); but, the last time I took it, I got a 22. I definitely have Asperger's syndrome (I was officially diagnosed), but I do want to socialize and do enjoy socializing when it goes well enough. I also happen to hate math and memorizing random stuff, so they didn't measure the things I was most autistic in.

TenebraruM - that is interesting that you mention smiling - this is a big problem for me - I see smiling - unless I have made someone laugh on purpose - as a put down - like they are humoring me and making fun of me . . . I hadn't run across someone who felt that way before - I think it is a throwback to every other species in the world for whom smiling is a threatening behavior (i.e. showing your teeth)

I first took the test a few days ago when my supervisor suggested to me that I might have Asperger's Syndrome. I scored 31 at the time. I took the test again today and scored 42. I've noticed that my scores on any given personality test tend to become more extreme after I take the test originally, so I suppose this is to be expected.

I am unable to smile naturally unless something makes me laugh. The closest I can manage to do as a natural reaction to my environment is a slight smirk with the left side of my mouth.

With a significant amount of conscious effort, I can contort my face into something resembling a smile. I do this often at work in an attempt to appear friendly. However, whenever I "smile" in this manner, it feels incredibly fake, and I tend to worry that this is obvious to those around me. Even if my false smile appears genuine to others, the fact that I only "smile" like this occasionally and at will probably gives others the incorrect impression that I am subject to sporadic changes in mood.

The very first time I took I got a 31. The next time I took it after I had become more aware of my personality, about a month ago, I got a 39 on the test.

I scored 22...Indeed I'm aware that I have many characteristics that are often considered as the opposite of what should be the "asperger-type" (for instance high creativity, diplomacy, sensitivity to other people feelings...), but I've also many other asperger features...
