When I have money, my anxiety goes WAAAYYY down. But that is extremely rare. I don't understand money probably because i've never had much of it, and that unknown leaves me with a lot of fear such that even though I technically could learn about money, the thought of sitting down to try to makes me feel like my tonsils just dropped down into my stomach. It looks like no one's ever going to help me out with this. but at least I'm alive and I get by.

BINGO!!
my nld, more to the point, my horrable executive funtions make it hard for me. i have done a good job learnnig many of the things i got a slow start on, but the value of money is hard for me. i thought the money i got from my mom passing would go farther, but w/ half of it spent, it's funny, i knew what it was gonna go for but the value of everything didn't add up in my head?

I wonder if it's an autism thing to need money to function better because you have less anxiety that way. Or is it just a coincidence?
I think we tend to be living below the poverty line, and not having money may mean we end up homeless, hungry, or at least with our utilities shut off--situations which are even more stressful than they are for NTs.
