I was wondering how widely used/accepted the ASDI (Aspergers Syndrome Diagnostic Interview) is for use in diagnosing Aspergers?

Try searching for it in Google Scholar, and see what studies come up.

Thanks. I've very recently been diagnosed by a clinical psychologist using this method and though I don't doubt their experience, I've just read so many accounts of people being dx'd using a whole battery of tests that I was curious if anyone else had been diagnosed using the ASDI method.

Almost every psychologist has a web page where they list their academic credentials, awards, publications, and any professional certifications. They may even list whether ASD diagnosis and counseling is an area of their practice. It's a good place to start to see whether a psychologist is competent to make an ASD diagnosis.
