Matt Savage was born in 1992 and is already playing jazz with the greats!
I cried when I saw this. It just proves that AS is not a disease but a blessing!

What genre of jazz is he in?

Tim

He sounds good.

Dont 'try to be like him,' try to be better then him

Everyone has these talents, they simply need to find the best way to learn them. Its all about how to 'learn' something. That and motivation. Its hard to learn something you care nothing for.

Either way, its being disproven anyone is born with these talents.

Who ever said it was a disease? Disorder I could live with, because the order of things has been disturbed. There is NO pathology, etc... so it clearly isn't a disease. HECK, I'm happy I found this forum, etc... I'm going to start doing more things like I did when I was younger, etc... I wonder why I haven't done this BEFORE! I guess when I was younger I was too preoccupied. It was good, I learned things etc... Later, I was older and I guess just couldn't handle it all. Now I can! YEAH!

Who knows, maybe I WILL take up guitar again. At one point I DID start to do ok. I also did ok with the piano.

That's the spirit Steve! If you don't start again NOW, imagine how old you'll be when you finally get pretty good again if you only pick it back up in another 10 years!

Wait, did that come out right?

Err... anyways, maybe I should clarify.... that's not a dig at your age... I'm trying to be encouraging!! Oof, I'm horrible at that. Oh well. I try!

And pick up that guitar! :)

Yeah Blackcat, I guess I should change that. I just get caught up in such things sometimes. Tell you what! I'll try to cycle through, etc... I guess it is a bad idea to use too many similar words in the same post anyway.

Drowning Medusa... Are you TRYING to make me feel ancient? For the first time in over a decade, I would be OK if I could live forever even just as I am. Sadly, that won't happen. 8-(

Oh well, you know how bad I am at such things also. But YEAH. The guitar(a nice yamaha acoustic) is only 8 feet away from me now, as it is most of the time. The organ(A cheap sears VOX) is about 15 feet in the other direction. Somewhere I have a device to tune the guitar, and I have a number of music books. Oh well, I guess I just didn't see much point in playing. 8-( Then again, one person laughed at the idea of learning a language just for the heck of it.

If I had really thought about it, etc... I might have actually studied languages when I was younger. Oh well, I have NEVER been a fan of the US education system, and I guess I am not a fan of any.

So drowning medusa, do YOU play an instrument? Which one?

Well, tomorrow I will try to limit my access here. I will do all the other stuff I want to do.

Steve

Hehehe, I play the guitar too (and bass)! If you click this link, you'll hear a surf tune I wrote and all the instruments you hear I am also playing!

And, for the record, I'm sorry, i didn't mean to make you feel ancient! !!

My problem is simply that I keep seeing people going to college that were born in like the late 80s! NANU!(GERMAN expression of surprise, and also orken greeting, to avoid reuse of YIKES or WOW!) And here I am trying to figure out where I will be in 10 years, etc... At this point, I guess I will be ok mentally. I actually feel better than I did 10 years ago! NICE!

Aw, maybe the hindus are right and I'll be reincarnated, and have it to do all over again. If so, I can only hope I'll be an aspie and know about it EARLY this time. I was never concerned about my sensitivity to sound and light. How was I to know it was a clue to the other stuff? I never ven though about the stimming outside of it being a comforting habit that evolved from when I was a kid. How was I to know? I thought the other stuff was just dumb luck, and I was shy.

I guess it is like decades ago when an old person forgot too much, and they spoke of senility. People never bothered to think it might be an acquired problem.

With ME, I thought it was acquired when it was innate. I don't even think my mother told me about the early hyperlexia, until I asked her. I asked her when I started talking, and she said "funny thing ....". So, AGAIN to quote mork and the germans! *****NANU*****! !! !!

BTW were you signing on spaceship rust? Well, it does show some talent. I'm not really into a lot of that, and the chimes on the spaceship rust started to hit a frequency that is irritating to me. If you have that problem, maybe the frequency just aries or something.

Interesting site, by the way.
