Anyone else ever have this problem?

Okay, so I found out I might have AS about a year ago, and it's been on my mind a lot since then. I did the usual thing of picking up a few AS habits I hadn't had before -- like more overt stimming -- pseudo-consciously, i.e I wasn't doing them deliberately but I knew the only reason I was was because of the idea of AS in the back of my mind. Anyway, I have a bad feeling I might have picked up a few other bad habits entirely unconsciously, without realising that anything had changed in my behaviour. I'm referring in this instance to eye contact. I've never been able to look anyone in the eye, but I didn't realise until today that at some point I must have been okay looking at them in general as I spoke, rather than staring aimlessly into space like I do now. I was talking to a friend of mine that I haven't seen since last year, before I learned about the AS, and she commented today that I wasn't looking at her when I spoke, and that I always had before. This took me by surprise because I honestly can't remember an instance in which I did, I had always sort of assumed I'd spent my whole life staring into space when I talked. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you unconsciously pick up a habit you never realised you hadn't done before until someone brought it to your attention? This is the first time anyone's said anything about it to me.
