Seven Things I Totally Like About Myself

Hey. I suggested the subject, I CAN'T be the one to go first... it would appear arrogant! I promise to admit whatever wacky qualities I totally like about myself after some other people have. I DO NOT break promises! Forget the humility, please. Doesn't matter what qualities you love... maybe you can balance a salmonberry on the end of your nose for three days, play Theremin, solder, program in machine language, find meteorites, grow fungi, swim, sing, laugh. Do you read twenty books at the same time? That's cool!

Hehe. Okay. This is in the General Autism Discussion section rather than Random, so do you want us to list things that are due to our autism? Probably not exclusively, I assume, so in that case:

- I'm really good at spotting insects when doing macro photography.
- I can do more "men's" push-ups than any woman I know.
- I really like my honesty and openness, especially in comparison to others'.
- I like my synaesthesia.
- My freckles are pretty cool.
- I like that in general I'm not stupid, and in some ways I'm pretty smart.
- I'm becoming pretty happy about the fact that I have an ASD.

That was hard to come up with seven.

1. I can memorize dog and bird types
2. If I try really hard Im really not that bad with people
3. I am a good writer
4.I am good with kids (the quiet, well behaved ones)
5. When bad things happen I get over them quickly
6. I am creative
7. I am funny

-I am really good at producing an A paper in just a few hours (research included!)
-I am good at picking up/learning other languages (which is good since I have to learn 3 by the end of April 2014 for my degree)
-I am (or try really hard to be) non-judgemental
-I am stand up for what I believe in
-I am really good with animals
-I have a really good memory
-My autism (I can't change it, so I embrace it!)

- I'm a literary connoisseur and really good at English
- I have a great memory for details and an amazing auditory memory
- I can study something about a special interest and almost never forget it
- I'm a loyal friend
- I'm a good writer (essays, poems, stories, you name it)
- I'm unique, in part because of my AS
- I'm a survivor (born 3 mo's premature, died several times but always came back)

Why the hell not?

1. I'm able to focus intensely on things for periods of time far beyond the average person.
2. My mind is extraordinarily logical, which I feel is a boon in a world where most people think with their emotions.
3. My memory is exceptional (my auditory memory has even been called eidetic).
4. I'm a genius. You said forget the humility, so there it is. My IQ is absurdly high and my level of academic achievement has always been around nine years in excess of my biological age.
5. I'm very good with animals. I can really understand the cognitive processes behind the things animals (all animals, but especially dogs) do, to the point where I suspect my mind functions more like that of a dog than a neurotypical human.
6. I'm adept at arguing (that's a gross understatement). The school debate team practically begged me to join them.
7. In some ways I'm the most mature person I know, but in others I'm the most childish. I kind of like this duality about myself. Everyone else seems so determined to grow up, and I don't see what all the fuss is about. Being a child (emotionally) is much more fun.

- I'm a kind person, just not a weak one

- I never give up (although it seem like it at times)

- I can control my own concentration
- I'm really good at cooking

Don't know if I can think of seven.

Um, OK here goes:

well I managed six, more than I thought! (edited to add my seventh!)

7- my family, if that counts, as they are truly wonderful!

I actually quite like myself, I just don't like all of the things that are happening to my mind and body at the moment...

1. I'm Honest (Very difficult for me to lie about anything).
2. I can achieve anything I set my mind to
3. I'm loyal to the ones I love
4. I have integrity
5. I can troubleshoot techical problems quickly
6. I'm generous
7. I can be very articulate and wise.

Err, this is gonna be hard....

1. I am good with accepting people who have physical/emotional differences right when I first see them
2. I have a good sense of humour




Can't think of anything else. I could say ''I am passive, caring, thoughtful, empathetic, kind, sweet, meek, accepting, forgiving, and loyal'', but being all that just makes people laugh at me or take advantage of me, so no, I don't like being like that but I'm unsure of how to change without still being nice enough.

1- I have a very good memory;
2- I have a strong personality that allows me to overcome my difficulties;
3- I am quite good in some subjects that others find difficult;
4- I have a strong desire to improve;
5- My grammar (Italian grmmar) is quite good;
6- Although I don't have many friends, I'm very loyal to the ones I have;
7- I've never thought about killing myself, even in the most difficult situations.

1. My sarcasm and irony is really good.
2. My intelligence is above average for people around my age.
3. I keep secrets really well if people do not want me to tell them.
4. My memory is very good.
5. I am a nice person, I don't judge people right away for example.
6. I am honest with people I know well like my parents and friends.
7. I have a child-like personality sometimes.

1.) I enjoy having an exceptional sense of direction; I can glance at a map (or anything, for that matter) once and memorize it for hours and I can sense compass directions no matter how disoriented I am and never, ever get lost.
2.) Every instrument I've picked up, I've become exceptional at in very little time (not naturally, but after hard, obsessive practice ).
3.) I'm thankful that I can type 117+ (as high as 127) words per minute because I'd go insane if I couldn't.
4.) I'm ultra-fair; no prejudice, stereotyping, racism or anything...just pure moral fairness for every one and everything.
5.) I'm very protective of my family's safety and wouldn't hesitate to jump in the line of fire to save someone. I'm keenly aware of any and all potentially dangerous situations and have 'back-seat driver' saved my family from a number of accidents.
6.) I can draw anything I picture mentally to near photo-realism if required, including imagined things with a complete comprehension of light and shadow.
7.) I'm extremely agreeable, so people sometimes reach out to me when they're stressed or frustrated and I can typically diffuse the situation, which generally makes me feel pretty good about myself. It's funny because, I'd never in a million years reach out for help in those situations; Mr. Internalized right here.
