Anyone else have ADD with Autism?

Had suspected ADD for a long time but didn't realise how it impacts on Aspergers until I was diagnosed recently.

It certainly makes life interesting.

I have both ADD and AS. Medication helps the ADD. I'm disorganized as hell without it, and can make some attempt at being organized with it. I can also remember to do things when on the meds, and can't do it to save my life if I don't take them.

I was diagnosed with ADHD several years before I was diagnosed with autism. I do believe I have both, and am planning on starting a stimulant medication soon.

Smae here. Except for me, I'm really hyperactive without meds.

I may have ADD, but I'm not diagnosed with it. However, I have more than 6 symptoms of ADHD-PI described in DSM-IV.

I was diagnosed with ADD last year. I only wish I was diagnosed earlier so I could have gotten more help in school.

ADHD about a month ago, AS about 2 weeks ago. Never been medicated for either, but caffeine helps on days I can't concentrate or sit still for more than a few seconds.

I have autism and ADHD.

It's interesting, like Jekyll and Hyde interesting. I have combined ADHD too so I have no idea what mood, how much or little energy or just how much damn focus I'll have.
At least on medication I know what will happen; focus, commitment, no mind wandering and extreme talkativeness.

I have ADD and AS and I have a hard time holding down a job or doing well at school. It seems to be getting worse as time progresses and it's gotten to a point where it's utterly intolerable.

Do you take meds to control your ADD symptoms?

I call myself D-licious, because I'm ASD, ADD, OCD, and GAD. :) I don't believe I've ever had my ADD (could be ADHD, for all I know) officially diagnosed, unlike my ASD, but I'm definitely on the spectrum. I can't go for more than ten minutes of work without desperately craving to do something else, or something easier. But I have a wide variety of interests.

ADD and ADHD are the same thing.

I'm diagnosed with both AS and ADHD. It's fairly common for autistic people to also be diagnosable with some form of ADHD.

On another forum, I encountered someone who insisted that it was impossible for anyone to have ADHD and autism at the same time because they are supposedly "complete opposites" and could not exist in the same person.

I don't know about ADD, but I'm being tested for ADHD recently, and this psychiatrist, my mother and my father are convinced I hate it. Tomorrow I will know the exact result.
