Cameras
I can't stand being on camera or have my picture taken. It just feels like a part of me is taken away with the picture for someone else to do whatever they want with when its not theirs in my mind. I remember going to a friends house and her sister took quite a few pictures of me against my permission. The next day I insisted that all photos of me were to be deleted and I even took her phone for a while to make sure they were. When I see aspies making YouTube videos I don't know how they do it really.
As a photographer I take any request by a person to delete a photo of them as an INSULT.
They usually know nothing about photography. I do. If they don't want their photo online I won't put it online, but I will not delete it.
Such a reaction is as ridiculous as your own, but hey we're kind of stuck in our ways.
I actually wrote a sci-fi story about a camera that stole people away. It was a teleporter.
You took her phone? Her actual property? Now that was a bit much. Your actual reaction to having your picture taken is false so you maybe want to not steal people's property over something as small as this. You could get charged.
I know I'm being kind of harsh about this but I'm in the state of mind when it's hard to care so this futile apology is the best you're going to get. A photograph of you is a static copy. There's no consciousness being passed from you onto it. It's million of pixels being created from light and a bunch of glass and mirrors.
When I take a photo it's my property. I can even copyright it.
I don't like it when people take photos of me because they're not doing it right. I'd feel comfortable on video if I take it myself, or am responsible for the editing process. Try taking a photo of yourself to see if you feel the same way, then print it out and then tear it up. Say if a photograph of you is really taking a part of you away for people to do whatever they want over it - isn't deleting it nothing short of homicide? That's the way I see it. You're censoring my art. You're stabbing a knife through the canvas. Or you'r just really being nosy and controlling. But 'you're' I'm talking about all people in general who tell me to delete things. I kind of hate being told what to do.

I myself hate having my photo taken, however, because I am allowed to move around and avoid looking at the lens, I feel comfortable in front of a video camera. Of course, at first it took some getting used to, but as long as I don't have to look at the camera or its operator I am fine. I do not know how people with Asperger's look at the camera when making Youtube videos. I've tried and constantly look away.

So i'm not the only one that doesn't like getting photos taken, I prefer to run the camera. I don't know why but I just feel so uncomfortable like looking into peoples eyes and even when looking away I feel like i'm being watched, like big brother, I can't get it off my mind. Like I may do something embarrising and someone may click and then the event will be forever saved, reprodused an shared.
I too have deleated photos of me, my likeness is my likeness and on my personal property its my right to deleate.
If someone took a picture of me i would be pissed off. I don't care what kind of photographer they are.
Good Photographers ask permission first.
That way the person has the option of saying no. However it someone actually wanted a picture they would have to sneak it so i never noticed.
Seriously for past friends who've tried to take pics they ended up deleting what i didnt like or i would have melted down on them
Usually me or my gf take our own pics.
Pensieve how do you copyright your pics?
That way the person has the option of saying no.
Same. I don't really mind having my picture taken, though.

If the other person feels uncomfortable they can ask to have the picture deleted no matter how much you think THEIR face is your property. It is not. Someone is doing you the favour of letting you take a picture of them and if they do not want it kept it. is. not. your. business.
Also saying you can take pictures of others and they shouldn't complain but saying that you don't want others to take pictures of you is a bit hypocritical. Wow. It's not like you are the do all and end all of the photography world.
BUT taking pictures of people on the street is indeed, in the legal world, fair game. As long as you are not taking a picture of someone in a private area, or using the picture to gain profit is perfectly legal, so as long as you're adamant about it they can't do much legal-wise, so go nuts- just know that you really have no right to complain when someone does the same to you.
That's illegal and very much against your rights.

So apparently I have "a very small trace of Aspergers?". Yeah, not sure what that means. But hey, any help I can give I will.
Glad to meet to you all!
Sadly that right is very transparent these days. Now the media has people thinking that if you are not open with who you are, online for example, then you are not who you say you are and are not to be trusted. I remember recently reading an article advising women not to date men who don't have a Facebook profile for these reasons. This kind of thing scares me. Rights evaporate away over time.

The next issue for me is photoshop and movie maker, taking my photo is bad enough, shareing it is worse but munipulateing it is downright painful and disrespectful. I have thretened to damage peoples/familys computers, nentendo systems, hard drives etc. if such files are not deleated on the spot. My thought is I own the image likeness on the hard drive so I therefore own part of it.
I hate having my picture taken too. Once my mum took a picture of me asleep in bed one morning, and luckily she showed me it because I soon made her take that off. I could just imagine her going through all her camera pictures with her friends and coming across the picture of me in bed. I'm sorry, I don't like being seen in bed. I know I sound grouchy but I don't care.
Sometimes when I'm at a social event and a picture gets taken of me in the background, or somebody takes a picture of nobody and everybody without us really knowing, I don't mind that so much. It's when I'm posing is when I pull the most ugliest faces. Well, it's not really the faces I pull, it's just the way I stand or sit. I look really hunched when I'm sitting in a photo, and when I'm standing I kind of look stooped and I stand stiffly, like I am ready to run a race or something.
I am told to relax when having my picture taken, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't. Some people can look really nice in every picture took of them, even if they are pulling a funny face, they still look immaculate in their photos. Me, I don't.
