This one is cheating, but "Everything is Alright" by Laura Shigihara, since it's about a girl with PDD struggling to connect with her husband.

Other songs include:

*Afterlife - Avenged Sevenfold ("So out of place don't wanna stay, I feel wrong and that's my sign.")
*ATWA - System of a Down ("All the world I see before me passing by")
*Jeremy - Pearl Jam
*Tuesday's Gone - Lynyrd Skynrd ("And I don't know where I'm going. I just want to be left alone.")

"Catch Me Falling" by the Lemon Pipers has a message that I can apply to Asperger's in my opinion. However, the song may not have been intended that way.

I've been here for days
Looking for the right road
Searching for some kind of friend
To help me bear my load

Catch me falling
Hold me I'm slippin' through
Stop me from fading away

I've tried every kick there is
And some yet to be found
But it's so hard to find
When there's no one else around

Catch me falling
Hold me I'm slippin' through
Stop me from fading away

There are times when I decide
To back up and move on
But what good would that do
It's the same each place I have gone

Catch me falling
Hold me I'm slippin' through
Stop me from fading away

Catch me falling
Hold me I'm slippin' through
Stop me from fading away

STYX always does it for me...think "(Domo Arigato) Mr. Roboto" - the constant feeling that you're going to be found out and persecuted and need "somewhere to hide to keep me alive"! ! My name isn't Kilroy, though :P

Of course, there's also "Show me the Way" and "Crystal Ball" that I can identify with.

Oh, and when I was a young boy of about 10 years old...before anyone heard of Aspergers...I loved the song "Una Paloma Blanca" - it was goofy as heck, but it had a certain message of just turning into a dove and flying high over the mountains, away from all the B.S.

SOUL ASYLUM
Runaway Train Lyrics

Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a blow torch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning

So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep

It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep
There's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seems so faded

I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just drowning in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train

And everything seems cut and dry
Day and night, earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it

Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like the madman laughing at the rain
Little out of touch, little insane
It's just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Runaway train never coming back
Runaway train tearing up the track
Runaway train burning in my veins
I run away but it always seems the same

Its not just the name of the song. This one has resonated with since way way way before I knew about his forum or even my autism.

This song was written for us! I literally cant remember the names of the girls I meet when Im out OMG

"Did you ever get the feelin that youre out there all alone,
No one else can hear you, no one answers when you phone,
Youre worried cause you cant remember the Name of the girl that you just met,
Might must be youre born on the wrong planet.

No, I dont think that it could be somethin that you ate
cause I just had the same thing too and man I sure feel great
Now dont you worry, its not something that you should regret
Thing is you were born on the wrong planet.

Now I must admit Ive felt that way once or twice before,
When I cant think of what to say as Im walking towards the door.
For this strange feeling I have I cannot find a cure.
I guess I was just born on the wrong planet. "

Life on Mars? - David Bowie
I'm a huge Bowie fan and this one feels so personal. It's about a girl wishing for something greater in life but never having access to it. As I've gotten older, I find that to be more and more true.

Angie Baby - Helen Reddy
It's not my favorite song nor am I into Helen Reddy, but once I listened to this lyrics I was like "Holy crap that girl sounds kinda like me!". She listens to music not only for pleasure but as an escape. I do that everyday.

Pork & Beans - Weezer
A quirky "be yourself and do what makes you happy" type of song. Very reassuring message for an Aspie to hear even though it's still difficult at times to actually do.

Undone (The Sweater Song) - Weezer
Perfectly describes how I feel inside when I'm among a large group of people. All the mundane small talk about school, who did what, and the weather makes we want to die inside. Yet I go along with it to fit in....sigh.

Beck's entire discography - enough said.

A lot of Instrumental music speak to me since it makes you want to create your own stories and scenarios to go along with it, which is something I also do constantly. The two instrumental artists I've been obsessed for the longest time is Zoe Keating (thanks RadioLab!) and Blockhead.

There's probably a lot more but this is all that comes to mind at the moment.

I was just listening to this song with lyrics and it kind of hit me. Then I remembered this thread.

It's La Dispute- post-hardcore, lots of yelling, screaming, etc just a warning for those who dislike that style.

Life brings nothing for the same
Keep searching new days on the horizon
While time just seems to slip away
I'm leaving no trace along the way

Seems like I'm falling deeper, deeper inside myself
Feels like I'm growing weaker, much weaker each day
Along the path to decay

Symphonic metal:

Me Against the World by Simple Plan

We're not gonna be
Just apart of their game
We're not gonna be
Just the victims
They're taking our dreams
And they tear them apart
'til everyone's the same
I've got no place to go
I've got no where to run
They love to watch me fall
They think they know it all

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I've gotta prove them wrong
Me against the world
It's me against the world

We won't let them change
How we feel in our hearts
We're not gonna let them control us
We won't let them shove
All their thoughts in our heads
And we'll never be like them

I've got no place to go
I've got no where to run
They love to watch me fall
They think they know it all

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I'm gonna prove them wrong
It's me against the world
Me against the world

Now I'm sick of this waiting
So come on and take your shot
You can spit all your insults
But nothing you say is gonna change us
You can sit there and judge me
Say what you want to
We'll never let you in

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
Me against the world

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I've got to prove them wrong
They'll never bring us down

We'll never fall in line
I'll make it on my own
Me against the world

It's one of the most fitting songs I can think of. It fits us well, and I hope you guys relate to it. :3
