I was 12 when I started getting stress pains in my back and shoulders, whenever I told anyone that I was having stress pains they would never believed me and anxiety started around the same age

My personal stress began when I began to worry about schoo, around when I was 17 years old.

My earliest memory of being abnormally anxious is when I was 7, and knew I did not fit in.

The first medical opinion was when I was in my early teens and had abdmominal pains that I was referred to hospital with, but the specialist told me that it was neurotic pain.

Earliest memory of it would be at 5 years old in Kindergarten.

I've experienced anxiety from my earliest memories, my parents said I started to have freakouts over fears and sensory issues right from the start. The earliest I remember being terrified of something and it interfearing with my functioning was around the age of 4. However, it didn't start to become debilitating until 8 when I developed OCD. When I was 15 I was diagnosed with an ED and from then on anxiety and stress started to significantly affect my education and functioning, my functioning level (despite being diagnosed with AS) is pretty low now at 25. At the moment I cannot work, I cannot go back to education currently and I have to live in supported accomadation because I am not allowed home to live with my parents and I didn't manage to maintain living independantly. I'm a fairly useless human, however I am still pushing forward. I won't let anxiety beat me!

I was very young. My social anxiety started when I was 5 or so. I had phobias/fears before that as well. My social anxiety, generalised anxiety and everything else got even worse when I was around 12 years old.

I can remember having anxiety as young as age 3, and I started having panic attacks at age 7, along with OCD.

13-14 it became a regular feature.

Before then I only remember it happening on specific stressful occasions (like getting an injection for overseas travel).

I don't remember never having having anxiety. My youngest daughter has had it at least since age 5, but if I were to be really honest, I believe both my girls had it from birth, especially my eldest as she cried like you wouldn't believe and they both were scared of loud noises and reacted obviously to them, which is stress.

At least as early as 5 or 6. About the time I started school. But I didn't know it was anxiety at the time. I thought I was physically ill.

I've always been the sort of person to get stressed easily, however usually only temporarily as it happens as a result of some (usually temporary) cause. But I had a more serious ongoing episode of anxiety last year at age 20, the sort that doesn't go away easily even when I'm not thinking of anything. It's much better now though.

It started when I was twelve. This was probably because high school seemed so overwhelming at the time.
