Mostly now I son't feel anything, I simply forget to do it.
Sometimes I feel a kind of prickly pain on my skin and feel anxious, especially if they are talking about aspergers without knowing I am diagnosed, that has been happening so much lately and I hate it.

I agree about feeling exposed. I also just kind of think it feels too personal.

When I make eye contact I forget what I'm trying to say or achieve. It feels like when I look into a person's eyes that I'm seeing almost too much to deal with.

It means for me that a good portion of my concentration on the conversation is now refocused on maintaining eye contact, along with the distracting thoughts of where my eyes should be which of course means that I'll lose much of what is being said to me in the process.

You might as well be talking to me on the phone while putting away dishes, it basically adds up to the same results.

I don't feel disorientated I feel exposed. I feel like the person I'm making eye contact with can see right through me and know things about me that I would rather keep secret. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul which is why I feel the need to avoid eye contact. I feel like I have more privacy if I don't make eye contact with others.

This. I feel as if they're piercing through me to the very depths of my soul, as if some piece of armour has been physically removed, leaving me extremely vulnerable. I hate it. I can fake it when listening to people (watching their mouths, foreheads, etc.) but not when speaking. I come across as extremely autistic then; tilting my head at odd angles as I stare at the ceiling or the walls or the floor.
