I’ve always been really crap at opening things like cereal boxes and end up just ripping the tops off. It’s so bad that my family knows I opened something because of how badly it’s opened
Anybody else horrible at opening things? Or is this just a me issue?

Yes! I have good moments, but I will avoid opening a lot of things in front of other people. Especially chip bags, though fortunately I very rarely eat potato ships or snacks like that. I can mangle some cereal bags, though.

I usually open things in a rush, I don't know why.

Yes!! I always mess up boxes when I try to open them. And also trying to pull foil or cling wrap off of a roll. I completely mess the whole roll up. :|

I'm horrible at opening letters. I end up ripping them on the side usually. I have bad fine motor-skills & a tremor disorder that acts up when doing things with fine motor-skills.

A sidenote: opening an envelope is also very annoying

I do the exact same thing with cling film and foil. I’ll try and cut off the rolled up parts to no avail and the whole thing ends up becoming a bigger mess.

Opening cardboard milk or juice cartons. The edges get so torn and bent that I spill all over. And cling wrap for sure! If I do manage to get a piece torn off the roll I manage to crumple it up and make it unusable.

I use scissors when necessary to open bags.

I do that too but I also use a box-cutter to open boxes or other things scissors won't cut well. I worked in retail so I used box-cutters a lot for things like that.

Ditto, box cutters are very useful.

That's why I own about 12 pocket knives (with scissors). :D I also give pocket knife to everyone as gift.

My hands are very good, capable of very delicate works, but I have never managed to open a letter or box quite right. I do know that my fingers are not very strong compared to most people's, even though my arms are quite strong. I think I just inherited very weak fingers. They look quite nice, though. :)

When I try to open things, it looks as though the cat shredded them.
