We've had Sounds we don't like so I thought I'll start a topic about sounds that are pleasant to everyone.

I'll start with some and if I think of others I'll put some more on.

Birds singing:
Cats purring: (My Cat has a loud purr and I find it soothing)
Jungle sounds:(Like you hear in documentries)
Music: (especially your favourite songs)

The only sounds I like are "white noise" sounds. Constant sounds that drown out everything else. The sound of air conditioners and fans running are my favorite.

I prefer the silence, but I like the sound of the rain and thunders too. When I was a kid and I wanted to relax at night, I listened AM radio programs.

Yes, good question. I also posted in disliked sounds thread.

I really like the sound of well designed analog mechanical things. So, for instance, I said in other thread that I can't stand ticking clocks. Which is true. However. If I were to put a stethoscope to the back of a nice mechanical watch, I would enjoy hearing all of the gearing interactions for a short time. Another example is a clean and well oiled bicycle chain running through the gears on a bike. And old analog typewriters.

Cat purrs, certainly. I love that.

Train on train tracks.

Light breeze on tree leaves. That soft rustling. It's nice.

I like:
- the radio/tv for white noise (when alone)
- silence (when with others)
- fire. I love the crackle of a small fire and the roar of a large fire!
- the sound a slinky makes when you move it back and forth
- the sound of my truck on the highway or dirt road
- the sound of hoof beats (especially when I'm trail riding and we walk across cement)
- metronome (but NOT a clock)
- male voices (a lot of female voices hit that pitch that hurts my ears)
- running water
- wind through trees (just stopping in the woods and listening to nothing)
- the sound of the shower (but I hate the feel of the shower...)
- a fan on the highest setting

The middle of nowhere especially the woods
Dragonflys
The bluub sound when you drop a large pebble in water
A quality car door closing
The 8" fan in my pc case
The sound of cards being dealt on felt
The slow tick of a mechanical grandfather clock
On a night .Headphones with tv or film to block everything else out

Sitting on a quiet beach in early summer, listening to the gentle lapping of waves at the shoreline and the distant drone of a small airplane.

I like sounds such as bird song, running streams, the way the leaves rattle when the wind blows gently through the trees, cat noises and good music.

- 'white', 'pink', & 'brown' noise from an app on the computer
- water in small creeks, medium size creeks, and especially going swimming underwater in streams, and just holding still and listening under there
- some types of fountains
- soft wind in pine trees
- music, only of the types I enjoy
- plucking a ripe strawberry
- small campfire
- tea pouring into a cup Image

A river or creek flowing over and around rocks.
Rain.
Snow; especially that light hissing sound of wind driven snow against a window.
Wind in trees.
A campfire crackling on a fall morning.
Other stuff, too....
