Thanks. That is a great resource for information specific to employment, relationships, and issues specific to females on the spectrum. I appreciate you recommending, and I will add it to my site. :)

Thanks Ken G., the AutiSocial site looks like another for unique perspective. If I may ask, is the individual a male. As I am having difficulty finding males on the spectrum who Blog and/or provide unique perspective. If it is not appropriate to share I understand completely.

I am a member of the Grasp organization, but am hesitant to recommend it as a safe site for all people on the spectrum and people who love them, because of some of the exclusionary points of view from the organization.

The same is true for Autreat, Autscape, and ASAN, as while I support the good things the organizations do, they are not welcome places for people who support parent run advocacy organization volunteer efforts, including people on and off the spectrum. Some of the people cannot enter into some of these avenues and feel comfortable, just because they hold different opinions on these issues and organizations.

By the same token though, even though I understand the good things the "other" organization does, I do not recommend it on my site, simply because I know it is so emotionally triggering for some people that they would not pursue the other valuable resources on my site, if they saw that organization headlined in the side bar in a list of recommended safe sites.

I do discuss it in a couple of blog posts, but rarely mention the actual name of the organization or actively promote specific ideas about cure, because of those reasons. I would not exclude anyone from participating in my blogs and facebook pages based on their spoken support of any organization. I have people on my list that actively support the organizations you list above, and that does not influence my opinions on their valuable resources.

I was banned from the AWN website for just discussing information about "that" organization in one of their posts directed at "that" topic in a very respectful manner, without recommending the organization. Additionally, I was brutally personally attacked. and the comments were allowed to stand. I talked to the President of the organization of which I still have an email of, and she verified that the behavior against me was wrong, and as a result gave a written post notice warning on the site that people were not welcome who expressed support for that "other" organization. At least, now, people can't stumble upon that site, without having fair notice of an understanding of the "unspoken" rules of "dangerous"converse.

That is not a safe site for all people on the spectrum or off the spectrum. About a third of the people here on this site, have tolerance for other people who seek cures of remediation for the difficult challenges associated with the spectrum.

I cannot in good faith recommend an organization where people will be either bullied, censored or silenced if they attempt to provide respectful opinions in support for parent run advocacy organizations or talk about enthusiasm for Science based research that may help them or others with their difficulties on the spectrum and associated co-morbid symptoms, in reference to the word cure, which per modern medical definition does mean remediation of symptoms; not necessarily complete elimination of disorder and/or disease.

I only recently "liked" Thautcast page or recommended it on my blog page until he publicly recently acknowledged that the ongoing vitriol, including what he was initiating on his page, toward "that" parent run advocacy organization and people who support it, is not productive, and provided advice to people not to do it. I think people are courageous who can forgive and forget, and move on. That doesn't mean support, it just means to move on, if possible, from intent of vitriol against other people who support those type of organizations.

The saddest part of that was the wonderful art of acceptance ideas that he presents there where some people could not feel welcome to enjoy before. It is no longer sad; they can now feel welcome and take part in positive artful acceptance of Autism. I like to think I was part of what convinced him to make that move.

There are some areas that will not let it go, and that is okay, it is a free speech world, but it is a smaller world for support of autism, where I "idealistically believe" no one should have to feel isolated just because they hold different respectful opinions or points of view.

To be clear I personally recommend all the sites you list as good ones for many people on the spectrum to feel well accepted and to help further thrive in life. Just not safe ones for "everyone' to participate in and feel reasonably welcome.

Thank you so much for providing your website. It can be hard to find perspectives from males on the spectrum who blog or have websites, but I know they exist, and I just overlook signature lines, I guess, because I have never noticed it in you signature line before. :) I would rather though get people's okay, instead of "hijacking" their resource without asking them or letting them know I am adding their resources :)

Also too, I don't think it is necessary to discuss Autism, specific to the label, for a perspective to be Unique and valuable to listen to from the spectrum. It could be a "special interest" that is unique or anything in life, as everyone is truly unique on the spectrum.

Part of the Autism Community philosophy in other avenues is to listen to people on the spectrum. Unfortunately, if that is qualified by alliance of specific ideologies, those voices may not be heard, and certainly not sought out to listen to.

Are you referring to organizations such as Autism Speaks? Because I can't see any good coming from what they do - only harm. It would be like criticizing PFLAG for not supporting Exodus International.

I try to not to mention any names of organizations because I am looking for bridges not barriers. :) There is nothing wrong with different opinions but I see no good in excluding anyone based on opinions alone. That is part of my effort here, in providing a list of sites where everyone can feel welcome regardless of different points of views on issues like that. :)

Thanks everyone for providing input. I now have 29 safe sites for People on the Spectrum and People Who Love them where they can be fully comfortable in participating or reading valuable information and perspectives.

I don't think I missed anyone I promised I would add, but please let me know if I did. Also if you would like any of the descriptive words I used to describe your site changed please let me know and I will.

Please keep the suggestions coming in, if you have anymore, as every unique perspective and source of information can be an invaluable resource to someone else looking to connect, better understand, or better relate to all the Unique Perspectives on the Spectrum.

Also of note, I noticed my failing of not adding the Autism Candles Facebook site until now. It is a site run by an individual who was more challenged by his symptoms of Autism than some people interacting here who was very vocal in the Politics section of the site last year.

He now has over 18 thousand likes on his Facebook page which is amazing as he does not have the same "polished" skills as some people do in adaptation to reciprocal social communication, who are becoming successful in getting valuable information on Facebook out to other people on and off the spectrum.

The way he does it is expressing his emotions in language through Youtube videos.

A most ingenious method of adaptation in communication for one challenged in connecting the dots of complex emotion, social contagion and language together in written communication.

I learned from him and use the same device now, and as a result have picked up what was 30 readers a day to over a hundred now. My research style of writing is not too attractive, on its own :)

Autism Candles has become an effective "Casey Kasem House" of Positive Awareness, Disability Employment Advocacy, in "Lighting the Way" to see Autism "Better".

I am tempted to add in "Casey Kasem House" in my description but not sure anyone would have any idea what I meant by the metaphor, and I am approaching four lines of description already for an extremely unique person on the spectrum. :)

Also too, after I finish compiling the list I plan on dedicating a Blog Post to it and disseminating it widely in the Autism Community to highlight the importance of Safe Sites for People on the Spectrum and People who Love them.

I link many Wrong Planet discussion links in my blog, in particular, for purpose of getting more anonymous male voices on the spectrum out into the "parent community" as many are not aware of the valuable resource of perspective and information that is available on this website.

I associate more with the female voices myself as that is the dominant voice outside of these walls of Wrong Planet in the online Autism Community. In one most recent published anthology of essays there were hardly any males voices. Not an issue of discrimination, just an issue of successfully seeking out those voices and letting them be heard.

I am not going to exclude the female voices though, either, if I cannot find the male blogs and websites to share.
