I'm on a state disability program while waiting for SSA to get around to actually granting me SSI benefits.

I get a measly $250 (not including food stamps) per month from Social Services with a doctor's note while I'm waiting for my SSI hearing.

EDIT: forgot to mention, this is a county loan that I have to pay back

I've applied for a Personal Budget and PIP, waiting to hear back.

I don't want to apply for disability because I don't want to admit that I am mentally ill. I live off of unemployment insurance.

Nope, but I do have employer paid disability insurance if I were to ever get sick or hurt when not at work.

Disability Living Allowance and the Job Seekers Allowance - Disability Premium getting around £578 per month. I could be in receipt of more if I know more and explore all health departments, get documentation for PIP/Employment Support and DLA upgrade if and when symptoms degrade with age.

Does you have to always inform employers if you've ever received such benefits? I always see that asked on applications, like "have you ever received SSDI." At least I think I do. It seems like if I ever ended up on it, I'd have to confide for the rest of my life.

I've wondered about the purpose of that question.
