The comments on youtube have always been bad, in my opinion. I thought the change would make people more likely to post intelligent comments because it's linked with google+

I never posted myself on youtube, only watched videos. I know from different articles of reddit, that something seem to have changed massively on youtube, and that many people are really angry about it. But because of me neither ever have posted on youtube, nor having a google+ account I dont really understand, what exactly has changed. Can someone sum it up for people that have basic theoretical knowledge of google+ and are only passive users of youtube, what has happened? Is posting on youtube, now only possible if you have as well an google+ account? Would seem weird for me, because the more you force on people, the less likely people will be intersted in getting themselve an youtube account? (Just like the google toolbar, that I reject on purpose, because of them trying to force it on me, everytime I update Java. -.-)

The page constantly asking if I want to change my name to match my Google address is especially irritating.

I don't habituate the YouTube website, so the changes don't matter much to me.

I tried reading them, but it's never a rewarding investment of time.
I like the YouTube app on ios. The comments are easy to ignore.

I suddenly cant get YouTube.

I can get to the site, but suddenly cant run videos. Might be why. It takes enough more memory that it tops out my old computer.

lol I've seen enough to know that if people are going to post unintelligent crap, they're not going to care what medium it's done from, they'll do it anyway. Youtube comments have always been bad, yes, but only because people on youtube post the dumbest crap they can and the majority of conversations on youtube are just a bunch of immature idiots ranting and raving at each other, after which proceeding to the other's channel and degrading them further. The change at least keeps the direct arguing down because people who aren't linked to google plus, can't reply to those who are and vice verse, so no-one gets notifications on who said what, to whom. At the very least, now these random fools have something to lose if they act like d**ches.

I know! I got so annoyed with that I had to try really hard to keep from hitting my computer or something!

I decided to just stay logged out anytime I go to youtube.

Made worse by the fact that they say they'll keep asking me later. What, they didn't understand me the first time?

I originally signed up for a YouTube account seven years ago specifically to comment on videos. Now my comments don't seem to even show up, with my Google account. YouTube has gone constantly down hill ever since Google bought it. The entire site is now an unorganized mess. Even one of the original founders of YouTube hates the site now. You can see his comment about it at the below link. YouTube is going the way of MySpace.

Lucky you,
I've wasted several hours of my life just looking at youtube comments
