I found the number online and the organizer himself has aspergers.

He said they meet every Sunday and there is about 15 of them.

Will I annoy them will they annoy me will I fit it?

Interesting times ahead I am looking forward to it.

The meeting is a pub a quite place at the back I am told.

Any of you here ever meet other Aspies like this?

I have been to support groups 4 or 5 times and after the meeting of an group for people over 50 we went out for dinner.

It is a wide variety of people with different interests, problems, from the obviously affected to those who can pass as NT.

It is after the meeting that I really saw the difference. Half the people bolt, glad the socialization is over, the other half are engage in conversation with each other. Unlike with NT conversations there is no giggling or laughing hugging or kissing just intense interest and focus on the topic at hand.

Interested in hearing how a much more informal gathering of aspies who meet every week instead of every month as my groups interact.

I had some good experiences doing this a while back, and plan to do it more as opportunities arise.

Just click the "quote" button at the top left of the post you want to quote.

Sharkattack, you're lucky, I wish I had the chance to meet a few other aspies. Have fun.

Thank you StarTrekker. Once I click on quote, and it opens up the new window, can you tell me where I would write my fallow-up message? I appreciate your assistance!

good on you I went to an aspie social group a couple of times and i found it great, there was an incredibly eclectic bunch of individuals with amazing interests. I really wish there was something similar in my new town.
