Does anyone else have sensory issues that either end up heightened while sick, or sort of manifest when you are sick? When I get sick with a cold I feel like a lot of my sensory issues end up enhanced, especially in regards to dry mouth, and being stuffed up. I would rather have a stomach virus than have to deal with having a cold, both because of the illness itself and the added stress it brings me. I also realized recently that while I don't typically do any kind of hand flapping, I do engage in it when I'm completely overwhelmed when I'm sick with a bad cold or virus.

Is this just me, or does anyone else have something similar happen to them?

Not sure.

In a way, I like being sick because the experience wakes me up from the mundaneness of daily life. Something about pain resets your sense of perspective.

In another way, I hate the discomfort and being unable to get away from it...but only mus suffer until it passes.

This does happen to me. I also get sensory problems if I am too tired or hungry. Luckily they go away when I eat and rest.

Yeah, my sensory issues are worse when I'm sick. Everything is louder and brighter, and it hurts when I touch some things. All I wanna do is lie down.

My sister has that problem. But it seems like stress in general heightens sensory issues, at least for her, so since being sick is stressful it stands to reason the same would occur.

mine get worse if i'm sick indeed, but that's understandable.
when i'm sick, my body needs its energy to fight whatever is the problem, leaving less to deal with sensory issues.
this is the same vein as increased sensitivity when you're hungry or tired; less energy for you to use

I dont normally have sensory issues, but when I'm ill, I do have quite a few. If im walking, I feel really strange, like I'm more aware of myself. Also, if I have flu and I'm lying in bed, sometimes everything starts to look bigger, as if my eyes are further forward the rest of me. I dont know if this counts, but, yeah.

I've been sick lately. It's not been fun. I've not been able to stand light for 20 minutes. Like, any light.
