I always feel more energetic towards evening. In the morning I just can't seem to get going very quickly (takes me time to warm up) in regards to getting anything important or chore like done, especially if it uses my brain (I have physical energy just no mental energy). I'm not sure if it's a mood thing or a me thing. I always was a bit sluggish for a few hours after waking.

Does anyone else find that their brain does not get up to speed until later in the day?

That seems to be the case for me as well, but I feel as if it's a mood type of thing. When I wake up in the morning I look like a mess because I'm in my pajamas, relatively unclean, a long time from dinner etc. I say a long time from dinner because I don't really eat much until then. I could go on and on about what makes me dislike mornings. I'm also slightly sensitive to light (but I'm sure everyone is) and hate the bright glare of the sun. I also hate sweating (likely due to my tactile sensitivity).

AS people have a cat's brain, meaning wanting to sleep during the day and hunt at night.

Your brain is well suited for solo-hunting at night, not group-hunting during the day the way society expects.

One can force to turn it around, but it can be very difficult.

i often don't feel awake and "ready to party" until it's dark out.
winter is good then, since it gets darker earlier...lol
i often feel the sun saps my energy and i just wanna hide from the light

maybe a lot of us are really suited to be vampires?

I've found this to be true for me. The only reason I'm forcing myself to sleep at 11 and wake at 9 is so I can be prepared for when I have to go somewhere. Also so I can get a haircut etc before the shops close. Also I find that if I don't wake early it has a similar affect to not having a routine, where I just fall into a rut.

I wish I could do this. I work freelance, from home, and my brain often won't kick into gear until late in the day; before then, I struggle to concentrate or get anything done. So if I have work to finish, I can get up early but will still find I get nothing done until the evening, and end up working all night anyway to get it done in time. And then sleeping all day to recover from that.

If I go on holiday, or for some reason have to get up early for a while, I'll manage for a while, but then the minute I'm back to my normal working mode, it all goes upside down again.

I am definitely more of an evening person. Sometimes it is so hard for me to get moving in the morning.

Usually if I go somewhere early it's only because I've being forced by my parents or have no other choice. I never get anything done in until the evening either, in fact today all I've been doing for the past 3-4 hours is researching autism. When I get a haircut or something like that it happens at around 3PM, but if I was sleeping how I would like to I would wake up at around 4-5PM, which is way too late. I also hate being seen during the day and having people randomly come into where I'm studying startles me and makes me angry as it interrupts what I'm doing.

If it weren't for those necessities I'd almost always stay up through the night rather than day, and that's exactly what I did before last week. XD

I am night person myself. I can be more awake at 3AM then 3PM. You can look at the times I post here for proof. Adjust your time to Eastern Standard Time. This is the only forum where I believe I could find people who would find such a research project interesting.

It's the evening (prevening) and I'm so hyper so this made me laugh. Although I seem to have done so much today I couldn't keep my focus going.

I go through bouts of being my most energetic late at night up to about 2 or 3am. But sometimes I can get started as early as 9am or I might not be able to so anything until after lunch time. Usually I try to get started by 10am then have a break after lunch and try to get back into my reading/drawing/ studies at about 2pm. From 2pm-5pm I'm usually at a loss about what to do. I usually play video games (though now I watch children's afternoon cartoons) or go on forums.
