I have a suspicious feeling that certain people (such as managers) at work know that I have Aspergers.

I might just be being paranoid, but just recently I have noticed that I am treated differently to other people.

They seem to be treating me with more consideration and patience than they give other people.

I've never divulged to anyone about myself.

Can it really be that obvious? 8O

Do you go to Wrong Planet from your work website?

No way! I don't even play on my phone when I'm at work, just in case anyone notices.

I might be just being paranoid. I hope I am.

It may not be the worst thing, even if they do know.
Hope it all works out.

I'd consider it a good thing that they're being more considerate of... well...

Maybe pushing it a little more at work - walking a little faster, doing things as best as you can, just get them off your butt.

They know YOU. They probably don't know to call your behavior "Asperger's". What I mean by this is that people try to learn each other's personalities at work and try to adjust to each person's quirks. Maybe they just know your personality and treat you accordingly.

I think people are starting to catch on something is up. I've worked there for 7 years but it takes me a long time to warm up to people for for my true personality to shine through, which is when people realise I'm not entirely normal.

A couple of people have mentioned AS jokingly to me.

Some people just notice and accommodate, and it's great.

I think it can be that obvious, to people who have some experience like a child on the spectrum. And it's a lot better than people acting like I'm pretending to be me.

Mostly, it's my impression people don't know instantly but after awhile of knowing me then sometimes they know.

It's ok if people who know are accommodating. I just worry that the knowledge of it might get into the wrong hands.

There's so many prejudices out there and things are difficult enough for me as it is.

I worry too. There's only so much you can do, though.

And most people are concerned about themselves most of the time.

It's funny, I mentioned it to three people at work (but I'm not diagnosed so it was that I think I have it). One was a boss and two were coworkers. Nobody really cared/believed. I just stopped talking about it.

I mention it if I start having issues--such as being overly stimulated or dealing with a break in routine. It's usually to request a bit of quiet to get myself calmed down.

It's quite a harsh environment where I work. People are always banding about words like "ret*d" and "mong".

The other week I was sat in the company of three people who were slagging off people with ADHD, saying that it's just an excuse for bad behaviour. I was dying to stand up and tell them that I have it but I felt it best to just keep my mouth shut.

I'm not scared of bullying, I am capable of looking after myself but I'd just rather people not know.

There is something of a "playground mentality" at my works.
