I'm curious to know the songs you feel relatable to. For me, I would say a cross between Me Against the World and The Lucky One, both by Simple Plan.

Here's some lyrics for Simple Plan's Me Against the World:

I'm a nightmare, a disaster
That's what they always said
I'm a lost cause, not a hero
But I'll make it on my own
I've gotta prove them wrong
Me against the world
It's me against the world

You can see why they are so fitting, right? I think this song fits the autistic community really well, at leas to me. The Lucky One fits me because well... just listen:

See what I mean? This is coming from a band that has saved my live soooo many times. I wouldn't be here today if these guys hadn't touched my heart and helped me through my special needs as well.

So, what about you?

There's only one song I can relate to a little but not very much
Its called "Brothers" from fullmetal alchemist by vic mignogna;

"How can I repay you, brother mine?
How can I expect you to forgive?
Clinging to the past, I shed our blood.
And shattered your chance to live.

Though I knew the laws, I payed no heed.
How can I return your wasted breath?
What I did not know has cost you dear,
For there is no cure for death.

Beautiful mother, soft and sweet,
Once you were gone we were not complete.
Back through the years we reached for you,
Alas 'twas not meant to be.

And how can I make amends?
For all that I took from you?
I led you with hopeless dreams,
My brother, I was a fool.

Don't cry for the past now, brother mine.
Neither you nor I are free from blame.
Nothing can erase the things we did,
For the path we took was the same.

Beautiful mother, soft and sweet,
Once you were gone we were not complete.
Back through the years we reached for you,
Alas 'twas not meant to be.

My dreams made me blind and mute.
I long to return to that time.
I followed without a word,
My brother the fault is mine.

So where do we go from here?
And how to forget and forgive?
What's gone is forever lost.
Now all we can do is live."

Life brings nothing for the same
Keep searching new days on the horizon
While time just seems to slip away
I'm leaving no trace along the way

Seems like I'm falling deeper, deeper inside myself
Feels like I'm growing weaker, much weaker each day
Along the path to decay

The lights are fading day by day
No cure for the lost, there's no ascending
When life could not become more pale
A new dawn is here, another day

Seems like I'm falling deeper, deeper inside myself
Feels like I'm growing weaker, much weaker each day
Along the path to decay

I believe I can see the future
Cause I repeat the same routine
I think I used to have a purpose
But then again
That might have been a dream
I think I used to have a voice
Now I never make a sound
I just do what I've been told
I really don't want them to come around
Oh, no

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

I can feel their eyes are watching
In case I lose myself again
Sometimes I think I'm happy here
Sometimes, yet I still pretend
I can't remember how this got started
But I can tell you exactly how it will end

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

I'm writing on a little piece of paper
I'm hoping someday you might find
Well I'll hide it behind something
They won't look behind
I'm still inside here
A little bit comes bleeding through
I wish this could have been any other way
But I just don't know, I don't know what else I can do

Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

In My Garden
Sol Invictus / Wakeford

In my garden, I sit with half a smile
Amongst water whispers, beneath a sun dial
A girl in the foliage, with a golden mane
Our chance has gone and she won't come again
No one sees what we see
No one believes what we believe
No one sees what we see
No one believes what we believe
In my garden behind Bastide walls
I will hide from the herd and their feral calls
Stained glass light, bathes these stained hands
Fountains and statues my only Mother land
No one sees what we see
No one believes what we believe
No one sees what we see
No one believes what we believe
In my garden, are vine and moss
Wine and water and a golden cross
In my garden behind a bolted door
With our lady, and Balder and Thor
No one sees what we see
No one believes what we believe
No one sees what we see
No one believes what we believe

Black Sabbath-Paranoid

Finished with my woman 'cause she couldn't help me with my mind
people think I'm insane because I am frowning all the time
All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind if I don't find something to pacify

Can you help me occupy my brain?
Oh yeah

I need someone to show me the things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind

Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot feel and love to me is so unreal

And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it's too late

Only some of the autistic community can relate, but "Imaginary" by Evanescence is practically my theme song:
"Don't say I'm out of touch/With this rampant chaos/Your reality;/I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge/The nightmare I built my own world to escape."

On a similar vein to "Imaginary" is Kutless's "More Than It Seems":
"Where is reality?/What are the actions/That will define who I am?/I am holding on to the visions I've seen of what I could be/It's what I should be!/

More than it seems these dreams inside/Blue reality's lines/If I could believe the dreams aside/I am capable of more than it seems."

There's also this bit from Darryl Worley's "Awful Beautiful Life":
"I laid in bed that night and thought about the day/And how my life is like a roller coaster ride/The ups and downs and crazy turns along the way/It'll throw you off if you don't hold on tight/You can't really smile until you've shed some tears/I could die today or I might live on for years/

I love this crazy, tragic,/Sometimes almost magic,/Awful, beautiful life."
