I love Annie. When I was in the eighth grade, my class took a trip to New York and got to see it on Broadway. It was the first and only time I was lucky enough to go to a Broadway show. It was spectacular and decades later I have never forgotten it. I love the musical and the movie as well as the soundtrack. Sometimes I still sing the songs when I am doing chores around the house.

It's not my kind of thing at all. I don't really like musicals as a genre, so either the story or the music has to be really top notch for me to like it. Annie is neither IMO.
The only musical I really enjoy is the Sound of Music. I'm picky.

Sound of Music was awesome. Great music too. :D It's one of my absolute favorites of all time. And the fact that it was based on a real family and their true story is even better.

Annie is a nice musical, it has some sweet songs.

I like The Sound of Music also. The real story is interesting, and the real Maria von Trapp makes a very short cameo in the movie.

I didn't even know it was based on a true story. I just fell completely for the music and the story.

Watched this movie about 10 times and didn't know the real Maria von Trapp makes a cameo appearance in the film. When does she appear in the movie?

Don't know if I ever saw that...though on a computer game I play there is a character by that name but she's kind of evil, and I do not think the character you are referring to is as far as I know.

Really? I did not know that? Who is her character? That is so cool.

Oh yes, they are an amazing family. They immigrated to the US and opened an inn in Vermont which is still family run and owned. I saw the Von Trapp grandkids singing on Oprah a couple of years ago. I don't know if the parents are still alive though but the kids often do musical specials.

During I Have Confidence, somewhere in the background when Julie Andrew is singing, Maria von Trapp and her daughter walk past an archway. It's quite easy to miss.

I just read up on them on Wikipedia now. What a story...

Apparently they never fled dramatically over the Alps, but left undramatically by train. I prefer the made-up version, it was more moving and edge-of-the-seat.

The 1982 Annie (I think it was then) was my favourite movie growing up, and still to this day the songs pop out and it runs in my head. It was most definitely one of my interests that lasted a long time.
