Do people ever say this to you?
I dont know why but apparently that's how I'm seen when maintaining a seemingly neutral expression.

People don't explicitly say that to me but their actions show that they see me in that way. ln my case it's mostly because l'm always anxious and look insecure. People grossly underestimate me.

My wife told me that I looked "scared" in many of our wedding pictures. To this day (some 20+ years later) I still cannot distinguish between those photos in which I (supposedly) looked "scared" and those which I looked "normal".

I really can't read facial expressions nor apparently produce them if I look scared constantly.

When I was in my early teens my friends told me that I looked confused and gave me the nickname "Confuzed" after a local punk band. (For this reason I chose Confuzed as my first screen name.) I guess in my case, looking confused is more a symptom of ADD than it is a symptom of autism/asperger's.

People ask me "Is anything wrong", "What's the matter", "You look upset/mad" when I am fine all the time.

I think I probably often look confused, upset, or disgusted.
I'm sure it's true a lot of the times, even if my conscious thought is doing something completely different.
The facial expressions are probably tied to subconscious activity.
This effect of not being connected with your current expressions may be because of dissociation.

Come to think of it I've also been told I 'always look sick', and in stressful times I've been asked why are you smiling like when I was being ranted at by my dad, when I wasnt aware I was smiling. Then of course theres the 'are you okay' one, but most people here aren't nice enough for that one.
