I did that too. I have always imagined that everyone does that as part of the normal process of exploring reality.
If someone poked my eye I would hit them with sufficient force to ensure that they did not contemplate a second attack. Probably with a punch to the face or solar plexus, possibly with a back fist or elbow strike if they were immediately adjacent to me.
It's hard for me to understand such a focused, targeted action that you have no control over--this is so alien to my experience that I can't imagine it.
It's very dangerous and you should make every effort to find some way to prevent it from happening. Is there no way to refocus on something else?
