Not exactly a very big pool to go off of. It's a start, I think having it in the basically dead stats subforum kind of killed it.

Why not answer the new poll people of the forum? I'm sure GAD gets a ton of traffic. Added the option of other in case people don't feel they fit in the first two categories.

you might check out the man vs. woman counting thread. the guys almost always win. it's a clue as to the makeup of WP.

Based on what I've experienced, I would say the Man-Woman ratio is definitely not reflective of the incidence of Autism, which is said to be about 4-5:1 in favor of Males.

It's actually pretty close to 50:50 here, I believe Maybe 60:40 in favor of Men. Equivalent to 1:1 and 1.5:1.

The poll only counts those who answer it, and only if they answer it honestly.

I've tried similar threads, wish it wasn't so flawed in nature, frequent WP comprehensive 'census' equivalents (optional, but highly recommended) would be a nice idea.

So far it looks like there are more females but the sample is still very small. I've just casted my vote.

I am aware, but why would anyone lie? Not like this is some multiplayer game with constant trolling.



I was starting to have doubts about the poll actually because it didn't account for peoples different conditions, but then I remembered that isn't the purpose of this poll nor the reason for it. I'm not looking to dispell the so called 4:1 figure on AS males to females. I'm looking for the composition of this site because autistic, neurotypical, or other a fair number of the women feel like the site is male dominated, regardless of diagnosis.
