Me: *holds up regional field guide that has lots of plants and animals in it*
"Sometimes this book makes me sad"

Caseworker: Why?

Me: Because I don't get to go outside enough and I think I will never see some of these creatures again. I underlined every single one I've seen and I can tell you where I seen it. *turns to random page* this one is Wild Ginger and it grew where me and grandma used to fish. I read edible plant books too and you can substitute it for real ginger. *goes on and on for a while*

Aspie or not? If not explained by mental illness? This caseworker coordinates my care and I hope she understands me better.

I don't find that to be Aspie at all.

All I see is somebody lamenting that they don't see enough of Nature.

If I were a therapist, I would see this as a positive sign in a person.

I don't think so specifically. Just an interesting commentary on your part.

(Would that have been Hexastylis sp.?)

This trait ALONE is not necessarily a 'aspie' triat but is very common in those with aspergers.

This trait grouped in with other red flags would indicate aspergers or ASD

I know its best for people NOT to mention sonic around me, because i can't stop myself lol.

I saw a classic Sonic bowl yesterday I could have got for free and I didn't pick it up, the Sonic passion is dead in me.

I've started to share bird pictures and stuff on Facebook and I hope other people appreciate them, lol.

I really haven't figured out yet what I am!! !

Why do you think it sounded Aspie?
It doesn't to me.
Sounds like lines from a movie.

It sounds like a monologue of sorts, which is Aspie.

It didn't sound aspie to me, as a few other people said.

But, consider the source! We're aspies! Just seemed "normal" to us.

I've always liked field guides and learning the names of plants and animals. Totally normal.

I don't think that sounded Aspie at all!

But this is coming from someone who will go on and on about Transformers at the slightest provocation. 8)

I have read intelligent people can have strong passions, but then I ask myself.what level of intellegence? All I have is a childhood iq test:

Verbal: 129
Per.: 115

Then I wonder if that is even accurate...

That is a very decent IQ, if I'm not mistaken.

One therapist thought it was really higher than that, but I can't get tested again because my insurance wouldn't pay for it, I was told that they only pay for testing if they think you're intellectually disabled.
