Ok, so my friend wants to go to the local casino this coming weekend. Anyone here ever been? If so did you enjoy it? Or was it overwhelming with all the noises and lights and people?

I've been a couple times. They are quiet areas, but there are also loud areas. It also depends on when you go. I went during the off peak times, when there were just little old ladies playing slot machines.

I like to go once a month. I play on a penny machine and I get to be Austin Powers for a half an hour.

I find casino gambling to be the most insipid, boring activity you can spend your money on. If I feel like gambling , I'll play micro-cap stocks. At least that activity keeps me intellectually engaged with research.

I never saw what all the hubabalo was about. If my friends wanted to hang out with me, they'd know beter and want to go to a museum or something we could all enjoy. If I knew I wouldn't enjoy something, I'd tell e friends to go by themselves or sever all ties with me.

If I had to make a list of the most stressful places I've ever been (RE: sensory overload), casinos would be second from the top, or perhaps even hold the top spot.

I've been in quite a few of them at varying times of day and year, and they are always an assault. Even when they're "quiet," with just little old ladies playing the slots, there are still many colorful and flashing lights on the machines, the carpets are grotesquely-patterned and disorienting, and most casinos have a lot of mirrors at varying angles. Sound-wise, there are constant pinging and dinging sounds and different types of music all coming at you at once. There are also no windows in most areas, so that you can't easily determine how much time has elapsed. They are often rather crowded as well.

I only spend $20 a month at the casino.

If you have issues with sensory overload, you could find it to be a nightmare. Kaybee's description is pretty accurate. If you can handle going to a disco/dance club, you can probably handle going to a casino. If you can't handle that, then do not go.

Maybe do some research online about what else there is to do in town, and tell them something like, "I've never been, so I don't know if I'll enjoy it. If I just hate it, would you be upset if I went <whatever> while you're gambling and then we catch up with each other for <lunch/dinner/show/whatever else you're doing>?" It's a pretty reasonable request - it's not fair for them to expect you stay there for hours and hours if you're either bored out of your skull, or ready to scream.

I absolutely love casinos. Always have, ever since I was a little kid. The lights and sounds and games are intoxicating for me. I can't wait until I save up enough money to go to Vegas. Last time I was there was when I was 10, so I couldn't gamble. I have lots of intense sensory issues, but the only sensory issue that is bothered by casinos is my aversion to cigarette smoke. Otherwise, I love casinos and could spend hours and hours in them.

The sounds in Casino's are tuned. They all blend into a major chord (C Major, I believe). The temperature is strictly controlled and there are no clocks (they don't want you to leave). The payouts on slots are calculated so that people win just enough that they keep playing - until their money is gone, of course. People will continue to play if enough people around them are winning hence all the jackpot sounds - which are also designed to elicit a specific response. Everything is designed to induce more gambling - the lighting, the layout of the aisles, the positions of the tables, the colors - everything. Of course it is designed for NTs not Aspies. Your reaction to this psychological assault may not be what they hope for.

I never go to any casinos. I am not into gambling and risk losing money. I have done it maybe three times as an adult and then I be done. And I hate smoking so I never want to be in them. I had to deal with the smell in Las Vegas. I knew of a town in South Dakota that was all gambling. About every building had it and they were smokey.

But I have gambled in Sonic 2 on Casino Night Zone and I once took all the rings from one of the slots because it wouldn't give me anymore. I have even died after running out of time because I spend my time gambling for rings.

Yeah, my plan is to leave when I win more than 100 bucks... If I LOSE more than 50, I am outta there. We are going up in 2 different cars, so that will not be a problem..

If you are looking for a thrill of a game, well, this [url casino south africa[/url] is for you. There are a lot of bonuses and privileges for gamers. And besides, the manufacturers have released very interesting and original gaming machines. Each has a special design, thoughtful plot and a decent ending. Also, the developers haven`t forgotten about the classic one-armed bandits, but now they have added several additional functions. And what kind of slots do you like the most?

They sound like a sensory overload nightmare, and I went to a sports bar once (Chili's chain of places). If I can't eat because the sports bar has too many games playing audio and the lights are too bright, then I'd be a mess at a casino or nightclub.

I grew up in Las Vegas. Casinos are something I am very familiar with from passing by them or through them to get to a theater or buffet etc. But I always had noise cancelling earphones going.
