Hi, does anyone know if such a thing exists?

These are my RAADS-R scores

Total 80

Language 6

Social Relatedness

47

Sensory/motor

15

Circumscribed interests

12

It looks like the only thing I'm not good with is social situations.

Could this really be true?

Um...I don't really know how to answer really, but I'm interested in what others will answer. Shame new threads like this get ignored when that stupid "Optimism And Reality Goldfish21 Response To Me" thread keeps making it's way to page 1.

He did not ask any meaningful question.

The diagnostic criteria are that you need to have elements from the social and communication section and elements from the restricted interests/repetitive behaviours section. (Going from ICD10 which still currently includes Asperger's as a diagnosis).

Well I've seen a specialist who has diagnosed me with asperger's. So is there such a thing as social asperger's or not!?

I think maybe your question is unclear. Do you mean a different kind of aspergers? Or do you mean aspergers, but you don't feel as socially impaired as what you see in others? Or something else? My understanding is that all of us are impaired socially to some degree (since it's central to diagnosis), but are variously motivated to push through in different ways because of personality, experience and other factors. There's a big difference between two people who might equally find social interaction difficult but one has been surrounded by support and kindness that's enabled him/her to develop skills/ mechanisms that are more comprehensible to NTs, whereas the other has been systematically minimised, bullied and alienated. Most of us have prob had something between the two, but we're all the result of environment as well as underlying neurology. Imo. Then there's the fact that the triad of impairments won't be in identical measure in each person.

What i mean is, is it possible to have the social side of it without the trivial side?

Well my special interest is female anatomy which does count I guess.

So I am socially inhibited and I have a special interest but none of the other stuff.

Not sure I follow.

Your Social Relatedness score of 47 is just slightly over the average neurotypical male score of 44, and well within the "normal" range. As is your total score. But YMMV.

From an online version of the RAADS-R test:
The average score for male neurotypicals (13150 people took this test)
Total score Language Soc Rel Sensory/motor Circumscribed interests
82.6 6.2 44.0 17.4 14.9

I guess it's possible, but there are other things that can have similar symptoms to ASD on the social side, and might be worth looking into.

For example, Social Anxiety Disorder affects 10% of everyone at some point in their lives (from the wikipedia article) so it's much more prevalent than ASD.

No. If you have been diagnosed by a soecialist then they must think that you meet the criteria in both categories as I mentioned above.

Having said that, we all experience our Asperger's in different ways, and our traits and how we respond to them vary greatly. So when you answer specific questions in a test like that you can come out with a lower score. For example, in another test there were questions like, "I cannot see a piece of furniture without thinking about how it is made" which I would have to answer no, but when I see an unusual piece of clothing or hairstyle I do have to work out how it is made, and I think that shows the same kind of trait but in a different expression.

I think there has been a missunderstanding.

I paid a large sum of money to be reassed as an adult (last time I was 5 so not really fair) and perhaps have the asperger's label erased from my records.

However, based on my answers to the questionaire I was diagnosed with asperger's again.

But as you can see I don't fit the other criteria. Mainly social and an interest in the female body.
