I got my results back, after so long of waiting, and it turns out I scored high on the ADHD assessments I had.

The bad news is, I got reassessed with AS too, and it turns out I was correctly diagnosed with AS when I was 8 :( . But I did score low on that, but still enough to be on the spectrum. So I suppose that's quite good, although I rather not have it at all.

I just thought I'd share that. At least now I know I definitely have ADHD, :)

It's good to know what's going on. When I had my assessment, I was surprised that I had ADHD. I hadn't suspected that, but after I thought about it I realized it I definitely have the symptoms.

I don't know how I'd feel about that , it's probably better to know than not know but if it wasn't causing any problems I'd rather stay blissfully ignorant , I'm one of life's worriers and rather not add anything to my worry list  .

This "ignorance is bliss" thing could really bite you in the butt should you keep on losing jobs, without knowing why.

On the other side of the coin, though, I feel like I benefited from the fact that I didn't "know" that I had a "disability."

I knew I was weird. I knew I was a sitting duck for bullies. I even knew that I was "retarded" in some sense.

But I never actually knew I had a disability that would prevent me from being successful.

I wish I would've known sooner. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 30. If I would've known I think I would've understood that pushing myself until I was burned out was not the answer to the difficulties I was having. After diagnosis, I had a better handle on how to maintain a good state.

Will you be trying stimulants (such as Ritalin, Adderall) to treat the ADHD?

If I were in your position, I would want to see if they help at all.

Congratulations. Now you got that stress off your back and no more obsessive worrying about it. Now you can accept your AS too and just live on with and just see it as a label even if you feel it doesn't fit you.

Well at least I won't keep asking myself what I have and don't have now.

If you end up taking the meds and they work for you they may calm you down and clear your head (at least they do for me). Or they could instead make you jittery or give you shaky, if they work for you like they do for me they will make it easier to function. Thing is not everyone responds the same to them.

I am on Effexor and Adderall XR 25 mg plus Adderal 10 mg IR for later in the day.

At least you know that you have it now.
