Ok! Yesterday we found out my nephew has to come over next Saturday for a school function since his parents have to work and can't take him. (So Grandma will do it.) :-) IMO fine.

Well! He asked to sleep over tonight his mom said no. IMO fine.

I suggested "Hey maybe he can sleep over Friday since you have work Saturday???"

OMG! I shouldn't have asked it in front of him OMG!

Like I made some social error????

Dad says HEY she called you out on it!

On what????

IMO YOU have to work Sat. I WAS SUGGESTING! It MAY be easier if he slept over Friday night IT WAS A SUGGESTION/IDEA! IS ALL!

Not sure where I went wrong????

I am not sure exactly where you went wrong either.

This is one of those situations where the people involved seemed to have created a provisional (meaning non-existent before and might change again later anyway) rule between themselves using implications which I always miss. :( How are you supposed to keep track of information that is never directly stated and is constantly fluid?
