I don't mean to repeat myself but why is a Burger King job hard for me to handle with Aspergers? as well as juggling my life outside of there? I understand the work but the speed level of hurry hurry up quick wears me down more so mentally than physically, I feel I can't ''Process'' quick enough is this Normal for us Aspies? how can NT'S handle work day in and day out but it doesn't effect them to my extreme?

Some aspies' brains work slower than others. So it might take you more effort to work at the same speed as others. It could also be because of something physical, like dyspraxia. Last is the fact that the aspie brain generally uses more regions (dealing with all that sensory overload, among other things) than an NT brain, so generally speaking it does take more mental effort for aspies to do things.

Aspies exert a tremendous amount of effort in socializing--you may do better if you have jobs where this component isn't required. An example is a short order cook that merely reads paper slips and cooks--no actual human interaction.

If I had to be in a job serving customers, I think I'd rather be serving somewhere where I am with other colleagues who are also serving. Being somewhere where I am mostly in charge of customers on my own is much more stressful for me.

But McDonalds will be stressful because although you aren't usually serving on your own, I don't think I will like the kids and teenagers that go in there.

I worked at both McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts and found both really overwhelming. For me, it was a sensory overload thing. I was overwhelmed by all the orders coming in so quickly and all the different smells. The heat of the deep fryers (at McDonald's) caused me issues too.

The smells at McDonalds would make me hungry I think.

But fast food restaurants do sound like my idea of a nightmare, because they're usually loud and I worry that I won't be able to hear what the customers are ordering. In noisy, busy places, people do get impatient, and negative emotions from other people do affect me, so I'd probably end up bursting into tears if I got yelled at by a customer.

Some people aren't cut out for fast-paced jobs like working in kitchens (even if fast-food kitchens, and not professional restaurants).

I only ''flip'' the burgers and clean as well as a little maitenance but what stresses me out is how others have mentioned the ''fast pace'' what part of our brains use so much energy and power in order to work and socialize? I can't keep up the NT pace of work and life
