Hello,

my last post is here; viewtopic.php?t=338911

I've seen my doctor, and he said the same thing than most sites talking about Lyme disease. You can't actually kill the borrelia, just make it less spread and decrease it's number. When you have lyme disease you can't cure it...

He said that the specific antibiotic for borrelia is not good because it kills also other bacterias that are good and you can't take it for more and a year or you can permanently damage your body. Give me your thoughts on this, thanks.

I've had many doctors do tests on me and never did they say I have Lyme disease so I'm forced to trust him, although I seriously doubt his use of radiesthesia and the sticks of copper, but he uses it in a more basic way than another doctor who said he could find what my body was lacking of (minerals, enzymes, vitamins, proteins, etc.) with his stupid sticks and it didn't work. Do you think radiesthesia or dowsing is real? I've seen some experiments that said "debunked it" but then why is my doctor showing it "working"? He let me try it and it didn't work so he said it depends on the quantity of magnetite (Fe3O4) in your body.

My treatment is weird, tell me what you think;

Saunas 1x week, winter 2x. minimum 40c° because it will kill the bacterias near my skin.

stop the wifi at home, he showed me an experiment on rats I can't find online. He didn't say it cause cancer but it destroys the Blood–brain barrier which let the bacterias enter it and cause infection and/or damages.

some special drops of weird things to detoxin my liver and kidneys, which I thought they were already doing so.

Artemisia and Dipsacus fullonum drops, and Fallopia japonica in thea or something.

It's weird and I really need your opinion on all that, so please, and thank you for listening.

Both the CDC and NHS both recommend antibiotics.

Your doctor recommended:

* Says that antibiotics do not cure the disease. According to what I can find, antibiotics, if used early enough, do cure the disease.
* Is the only one that says you have Lyme disease, even after others have run tests that came up negative.
* Says "you can't take [antibiotics] for more and a year or you can permanently damage your body". The course of antibiotics last between 2 to 4 weeks and not a year. I think that an intravenous treatment of antibiotics can work for Lyme cases that have been untreated for longer periods (Kathleen Hanna ended up having to do this to treat her's).
* Your doctor diagnosed you with: radiesthesia (a divining rod or pendulum) and copper sticks!
* Your doctor wants you to treat you with: saunas, removing wifi, "special drops of weird things" (sounds like magic memory water to me).

I know which I'd trust. Are you sure this was a medical doctor because he sure sounds like a quack. If this was me, I would get retested specifically for Lyme disease by a medical doctor and if the test is positive, take the course of antibiotics. Remember, if you do have Lyme that the sooner you get it treated the better.

I'm no expert but I think is lyme disease is related to bacteria I would try, if I were you, at least taking a shot of water mixed with a heaped teaspoon of organic wheatgrass powder every day.

As soon as you google something medical and it the results show up with "alternative medicine", stay the f**k away from it. Your doctor is a quack.

No, you're not an expert. Grass doesn't do s**t and have no medicinal properties like some specific plants and there is no tradition in earlier medicine of EVER using grass to treat anything. Stop giving medical advice on the internet if you're not an educated and experience doctor and know what the hell you are talking about.

This is a weird one, Webmd says that "Wheatgrass is used to treat many conditions, but so far there isn’t enough scientific evidence to support effectiveness for any of these uses.". There's some experiments about it on ncbi but they need further studies as the results are mediocre. Lots of sites say it's real and then link to inconclusive experiments or even a gov page that doesn't talk about it at all.

Oh no you got most of it wrong, what I meant is;

1: He said it's impossible to cure borrelia, even with antibiotics, not other things.

2: ELISA showed "might have lyme" . So he asked for a blood transfusion to be sent to Arminlabs, in germany. They did Borrelia Elispot which showed positive.

3: I think you're right, and I'll tell him about it.

4: He did not diagnose me with the sticks, and he has no pendulum. he did not use them on me, another sh***y doctor did and said he could know what I lacked in my body this way. The first doc just talked about it and showed me on a water bottle, I'm skeptic though.

5: The special drops of weird things were names of brands of detoxication from fitoform. I don't know if detox works.

Thanks for your input.

Ichinin the benefits of wheatgrass were only discovered in the 20th Century by an American agricultural chemist called Charles Schnabel. That is why there is no history of it being used in traditional Chinese or herbal medicines.

VYcma the Lyme disease is essentially caused by bacteria that get into a person's body from a tick.

Antiobiotics are prescribed because they kill bacteria.

Wheatgrass has natural antibacterial properties too.

Because many antibiotics have been prescribed over the years a lot of bacteria are now antibiotic resistant.

Anyway I will admit I don't know enough about this subject. I only wanted to post about the wheatgrass to make it known to you I thought it might help. Whether or not you take antibiotics I for one will recommend I think the wheatgrass would benefit you. So that's it, I've said my piece.

I just found this by searching for posts about Lyme disease after posting a thread in the Haven about whether any others have Lyme. And I can say, having had Lyme myself, that this doctor sounds like a total quack.

One doesn't diagnose Lyme by dowsing, "muscle testing", ouija boards, divine inspiration, or anything of that nature. Lyme is diagnosed by blood tests, and how it happened with me was that I felt "strangely not myself" for a whole summer in high school, like I constantly had a cold and didn't at the same time. Like, you know when you're fighting a cold and feel bad but don't quite have it yet--well imagine being "stuck" like that for months, along with weird pins-and needles in your body. My pediatrician ran a boatload of tests, and because I'd had arthritis in my knee several times in middle school, my mom demanded that a Lyme test be added. The Lyme test was the only one out of maybe 20 that came back positive.

In terms of treatment, my pediatrician set up an appointment with an infectious disease specialist, who said that I had to go to the hospital and start receiving IV antibiotics before she even had a chance to see me. It turned out I had a reaction to the antibiotics and had to be switched to oral, and that all this ended up not curing me--that's another story.

The one thing I'd agree with about what your doctor said was that antibiotics do kill off your good bacteria. When that first course of antibiotics didn't cure me, my mom took me to a "Lyme doctor", who was "alternative" in that he prescribed antibiotics longer than the usual time (he still didn't attempt to diagnose me by dowsing though!), and it ended up really messing up my gut--which was probably already fragile given that I'm on the spectrum.

So, the takeaway is, it's totally possible to get Lyme, and it likely IS more common for people on the spectrum due to our immune systems working oddly. BUT, it's not some "catch-all" that explains everything that isn't explained by anything else, and it has definite symptoms (nerve numbness, joint swelling, weird headaches/dizziness, etc.), and is diagnosed by detecting antibodies to the bacterium.
