I've been trying to get an official diagnosis for the past couple of months at the local clinic. Every time I go for an appointment its to schedule a new appointment. This is extremely frustrating. I went this morning and spoke to a psychologist for less than 5 minutes who seemed perturbed and anxious to get me out of there. He gave me a true/false test and after I finished I didn't get to see him again and got scheduled 6 weeks from now for another appointment which they will probably cancel and reschedule again. I've been getting harassed at work by a supervisor who keeps me from getting overtime and I really need it right now. I've been having meltdowns because of all the uncertainty in my life right now and I know I'm entering another deep depression, which really scares me. I really need some closure. I have no real friends I can talk to about this. I have a brother but he's never wanted anything to do with me so I can't go to him. I've been having meltdowns at work and I can't afford to buy any marijuana to help calm down. Does anyone know a quicker route to diagnosis and help?

I got nowhere until I found a specialist, and even then it took quite some time. I want to say about four months just to initiate contact with the specialist (problems with phones and transportation), then about four months to get a dx.
I got nothing but runaround until I saw the specialist. Really, really frustrating.
I typed in a search based on your apparent location, looks like there's someone in Kinston (?). Can't say anything about the person, but may be worth checking out.

Googled "autism specialist stantonsburg nc"

This was the second result: https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/ ... C&spec=167

Don't know if that will link or not.

Says she deals with Asperger's, seems like it's worth a call.
