Hi all.

Until 2 years ago, my face was clear and smooth. But something happened and my face is surrounded with acnes right know. I dont know what is the cause but I listed possible reasons below.

I'm;
- Fat (97 kilograms)
- depressed, stressed, anxious (not always)
- was using antidepressants until 1 month ago (prozac and abilify)
- drinking coffee too much
- masturbating everyday
- autistic (mild autism - aspergers syndrome)
- drinking water too much

Can any of them cause acne? Thanks for any help...

They say stress can cause an outbreak, but the evidence is anecdotal. The antidepressants may have an impact on your skin quality but it's unlikely that alone would cause a severe outbreak.
The rest aren't likely causes of acne.
Usually, it's hormonally based, or there is a topical cause like you switched soaps/shower gel/face cleanser/whatever and your skin hates the new one, or shaving a lot can sometimes cause it due to skin irritation and opening up your skin for bacteria to get in. Getting sweaty a lot can also cause it. Have you had your hormonal levels checked out, or recently changed a body product?
I find that a short course of antibiotics clears mine up every time if it's bad enough. After the outbreak is controlled, using a face cleanser with peroxide in it can also help keep things clear.

Benzoyl peroxide acne treatment cream, store brand is probably the cheapest. And then either get some facial cleanser with tea tree oil, or if you're like me and find tying your hair back and washing your face in the sink a huge hassle you may not bother with then get some facial cleanser pads with tea tree oil and try and clean your face with it at least once a day.

Also witch hazel can help or at least it can help moisturize the skin in a healthy way...as those two things I mentioned before can dry the skin out some. But don't get the cheap witch hazel mixed with rubbing alcohol....go to vitamin cottage or whatever store in your area sells naturally/organic stuff, might be a little more expensive but its nice last time I got it I got one infused with lavender...but yeah that is a good facial cleanser to, but the cheap kind you can get at walmart for-instance mixed with rubbing alcohol can dry your skin out too much so kind of defeats the purpose.

Flax oil.
Or any other oil with hight omega-3 and low omega-9 concentration. After washing your face before sleep, use it instead of a cream/lotion.
Get rid of parafin-based creams. Use flax oil instead.

It works for me and my sisters perfectly.

I don't think anything you mention is likely to cause it.

I've successfully use Erythromycin and Zinc Acetate solution (brand name Zineryt) to get rid of acne. I had to get it on prescription from the doctor, and it worked very well. The acne came back whenever I stopped using it though, so I had to keep using it over a number of years.

Now my acne is only minor, so I just buy some benzoyl peroxide (brands include acnecide, brevoxyl, panoxyl etc) from the chemist and use that for a while.

I'd suggest asking a chemist for an over-the-counter treatment, and if that fails, ask a doctor for a prescription treatment.

The cause of your acne is being a teenager.

Hi there.

My son is the same age as you and here's what really helped him. He developed really bad acne about 2 years ago and he's been taking this for about 18 months. The result has been incredible. It started working after just a few days and just got better and better. Almost like magic. :D His skin is beautiful now, with just the odd little spot.

Every morning I give him a 5000 iu (gel cap) of Vitamin D3 and ZINC. I suspect the zinc is the one that really works but both Zinc and Vitamin D are extremely important for boosting the immune system and fighting infection and inflammation. If the acne is hormone related, it could be that you need more zinc in your system than you get from your diet. The zinc that he's been taking is 50mg Zinc Picolinate per tablet, and he takes 2 tablets every morning after breakfast. His dandruff has also cleared up.

Good luck

Yah, ergo hormonal. :) If it's VERY severe they can put you on Isotretinoin for a while but it's pretty brutal, I was on that stuff for a time and while it DOES smash acne, there are side effects.

I have pretty severe acne. I suggest you see the doctor to see if they can prescribe you any treatment. I am prescribed an ointment containing benzoyl peroxide, which I apply to my face and back every day.
I don't know if it's available in Turkey, but it works very well; a lot of days when I put it on you wouldn't be able to tell I have it.

I was told it's a hormonal thing which'll pass after a while.

Thanks for replies. If i dont use anything (no treatment), will the acnes go away after some time? Or are they permanent?

Depends on the exact cause. If it doesn't go away on its own in a reasonable period of time, that's when you should try a treatment.

I had a REALLY painful zit on my nose once. Usually, I don't care if I get zits or breakout, but this one hurt. REALLY bad! I was able to draw it out with some charcoal based nose strips. I think it was something like this: https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/spa-@ ... actjs=true

It took about two or three days, but it pulled it right out.

Wash your face everyday and use acne cream daily on your face as directed. If that doesn't work, go to the doctor about it.

I get them on my back and chest but I use cream for it and it works. I get them on my back more these days.

I had clear skin up until my early 30s and then developed acne. I kept putting off going to the dr because I figured it would just clear up in time as I'd always had clear skin previously. Weirdly it would get better in winter and then I would think, "yes! that's it gone this time." but it would always come back. This went on for 3 - 4 years.

Then I developed tonsilitus and had to go on a course of antibiotics. After that the tonsilitus and the acne cleared up.

Once in a while I still get a bad cycst. I had a ad cold recently and developed a huge cyst on my nose, but it's starting to clear up now. I can still feel a bump, but it doesn't hurt anymore.

I wish I had gone and gotten antibiotics sooner.

You may have to see a dr to get this treated. None of the creams worked for me, just dried my skin up and made the acne worse.
