Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone else besides me has a problem with grinding their teeth.

To the best of my knowledge, I don't grind my teeth, but I do tend to clench them, to the point that I developed TMD because of it.

Yes I do really bad. I have a custom mouth guard I wear at night when I sleep. It definitely helps. I even grind my teeth during the day and I'm totally aware of it. Part of it's stress and part of me just likes the pressure I feel on my teeth.

Ever since I was little. I want to get a mouth guard, even though I would probably chew right through it, but it's because they're supposed to help you breathe easier instead of snoring.

I grind and clench my teeth. I have done it since I was a child.

Yeah, bruxism is a b***h. Over time your gums will recede, your teeth will crack and your nerves will die. All this will be very unpleasant and expensive to fix. Try being mindful of your mouth, your chewing and clenching.

Yep. I have to use prescription toothpaste now for my gums because they've receded so much from grinding. It causes extreme gum sensitivity and pain when eating and drinking. The toothpaste I now use helps with the sensitivity.

Grinding causes your gums to recede?

I definitely ground my teeth as a teenager a lot, and there are visible signs of them having been ground as a result.

I don't think I do it too much today, although I do still clench them a fair bit. The dentist does insist that I wear a mouth guard at night, which I frankly think teaches me to clench and grind more (not exactly ideal), but hopefully only with the mouth guard in.

I wear a mouth guard at night. Cost me $35 at the drug store and custom fits to my teeth, lasts 6 months. Dentist wanted $660 haha. What a rip off, who would pay that?

I grind my teeth all the time. I have a mouthguard but I never wear it because it always make me feel sick when I put it on.

I found that for the first few months after I got my mouthguard - it made me gag every so often, but having worn it for years now, not only am I used to it, it feels weird if I try to sleep without it.

I don't grind my teeth (that I'm aware of), but I do clench my jaw without realizing it. I've been working on catching it, taking a deep breath, and loosening, but it's hard when I've apparently been doing it for years without knowing.

This thread is making me worry more about it, which I hope doesn't make me do it more!
