I feel cheated being a first born and having suspected Asperger syndrome. I was the first born only in the sense that I did well academically, but was never a good older sister in any other respect. I wish I hadn't been so weird.

I'm my mom's only biological child and my dad's youngest. I don't have any siblings on the spectrum.

I'm an only child. No ASDs in my family whatsoever. I totally agree that part of the reason I'm an only child is because I was such a handful.

Second born of two. My brother definitely has some traits and is probably Broad Autism Phenotype, but I'm guessing he probably wouldn't be diagnosed if assessed just because he doesn't seem to have the difficulties I have.

Well here is my 2 cents.
First born Aspie here. Perhaps someone should put up a survey, would be interesting.

I'm the oldest of two. My brother has autism and intellectual disability.

This is interesting!

So it's confirmed that over 80% of those on the spectrum are firstborns.
Also, I understand that it's genetic.

So if a person has only one kid, there would be a higher chance of their only offspring having it, meaning a higher chance of most of their grandkids having it.

I'm the eldest and aspergers. I have twin brothers and they're also aspergers.

I have an older sister who hasn't been diagnosed with anything but I see aspie traits in her behaviour.
