I could always remain silent in this post!! !

But in all seriousness. Do you get days when you just simply don’t want to talk to the people around you and just want to isolate away from society. Just you and your own world. This has been happening a lot my mind keeps thinking I am going to be busy soon and I am going to have to socialise more soon. So isolate yourself you are going to miss it one day. This constantly plays on my mind.

I get days when talking to people is a major effort I would rather do without ,or at least keep to a minimum . As it is I don't talk much.

Definitely. Most days. And I usually make Sunday my day to really do nothing, since the week is so exhausting.

Yes, albeit rarely.

Yes, lots. It might be just a day, or it might last weeks or months. It can be to the degree that I won't leave the house if I can hear my neighbours are out and about, or listening out for what my landlady is doing so that I don't bump into her on the stairs or in the shared kitchen (these are people who I generally get along with.) The same applies to phone, texts, e-mail and forums as it would for face-to-face conversations. It's the effort of trying to piece together something to say and doubts about whether I can say what I mean in a socially appropriate way that are usually the problem - I often don't want to interact because of the rumination and anxiety which it can lead to afterwards when I am trying to assess whether it went well or not.

Yes, quite often. Sometimes I just want to shut out entirely every other person, usually even my partner. It's too draining for me to talk to people for too long, as in a matter of days.

This is what "pentimento" looks like online. I just checked and this thread is not in the Haven, so I've removed my original comment, because it was definitely Haven material.

The older I get the more often I feel like remaining mute

And the feeling increases amplitude

Almost all days feel like that

Cost benefit analysis not worth it

:D

Besides counselors, nobody is willing to sit around talking to me anyways. Once in a while some exceptions

I have selective mutism, so there's always certain people or situations where I don't want to talk...but yeah, if the stress gets too overwhelming, I just don't want to make peep.

Well, I never really talk at all during school times, except to one teacher and my friend. Mostly I do all of my talking at home to my parents, which is mostly my dad as my mum does not enjoy intellectual discussion. She keeps telling me to do small talk, but I hate it.

When I really not want to talk to anyone, family included, I sit in my room reading my meteorology books, or programming. To answer to question, yes I do get days where I don't want to talk to people, sometimes multiple days in a row.
