Applied to Brown University with AS.
I applied to Brown University (which is an Ivy League school located in Providence, RI) and I'm absolutely terrified. I have a 3.7 GPA and mostly A's. The reason why I'm petrified is because I mentioned my struggles with Asperger's and how it made me a better individual. I don't want them to interpret it as a sob story. They don't require SAT scores for transfer students, by the way. I just want to know if I dug my own grave by mentioning I have AS and Dyspraxia. I received a C in college algebra due to the visual spatial problems caused by the aforementioned Dyspraxia. I told them this and she told me if I have a medical reason why I didn't do amazingly well it probably won't be held against me. (Granted, if my grades are mostly exceptional). Any advice? Thanks.
Yeah, take a "chill pill."
Either you'll get in, or you won't. Wishing you the best of luck. I admire that you tried, no matter what the outcome is.
I have heard some people have had success discussing a mental/emotional challenge in their application essays. Personally, I wouldn't choose to do it, but I'm a fairly private person. They read so many excellent, "canned" essays that have gone through committee review practically, that I think probably seem very phony and ghost-written, that your approach just may have a shot.
A piece of advice, if you get turned down, appeal the decision or apply again. Lots of times these decisions change based on whether they have met their enrollment quota, or maybe someone changed their mind about coming and they now have an extra space.

+1 for Bea's response, 100% it's noone's grave either way.
I think you do have a shot.
Perhaps you're like me - all too often, I'm too good at front-loading on the what-if scenarios. I'll just echo that even in face of a 'no' there are always options.
We're here to talk about any developments, as well.
