Not an aspie moment. An NT might have been confused as well. I wasn't there but it doesn't sound like the finest example of comedic timing being delivered by a stand up pro.

If he go on to elaborate and say "nor any days starting with the letter N, and you have to fill out forms in triplicate before you take away the boxes." and you STILL didn't get that it was sarcasm, then THAT would be an "aspie moment".

I know someone who has that deadpan kind of humour, and he's an Aspie.

If you ask him what he's doing and it's something really obvious (aka asking a dumb question) he'll say something like "eating an ice block."
Clearly he's not eating an ice block, it's his way of saying you're an idiot for asking.

Another one was when he was asked what he was doing in the hardware store.
His answer: "Decobwebbing the ceiling."

My supervisor used that kind of humor a lot with me. I had problems understanding it lots of times but it didn't bother me for the most part. He joked around a lot in general & I joked around with him some.

mh that reminds me of this classic *sarcastic* exchange:

"Do you mind if I go to the toilet?"

"yes"

it's not funny, but it seems some do it to show how alpha they are or whatever.
