My art is a hobby that's more than a hobby. It occupies my thoughts when I'm not painting or creating and it's like a powerful magnet that draws me back to it.

I have some more than hobbies, quite a few. One of them is a specific franchise, and I've just been outright been in that fandom since I was 11 or 12. I've liked it casually for as long as I can remember. I also like everything about cats.
Some I'm uncertain about are drawing, 19th Century Russian literature (that franchise I like got me into it [I'm not sure if it's the genre or just Dostoyevsky]), gardening, and Rick Riodran novels.

I need to bury myself in my hobbies more. Preserve my sanity! Haha. I need to be "Me" more. I need to unwind.
Well. This is the last week to do in work. I doubt I will be able to work again. 4 or 5 hours a day is such a struggle at the moment and this is doing something I know backtofront and like. Is my lesser special interest in work form. But, somehow its a struggle. I think several years ago I must have hit burnout, and it has not lifted yet. Just gone deeper.
I need a break. A holiday to relax. I need to unwind and untangle. I need to be the real "Me" again for a while. :)

As JFK said about going to the moon: we do it not because it is easy, but because it is hard.

It must be something like building a model railway layout. It can take years.

Also like collecting string, or learning to sing, as far as time goes.

more like building a triple-decker railway layout, with helipads and subterranean tunnels and intersecting auto traffic. :)

learning to sing would be a lot easier. it took me decades to learn to do what i do [or at least did until my last SSD went south.

My last railway took me a month and a half of every evening working on it just to do the wiring. Usually ten year projects, why my last one never got finished.
