I like anime aesthetics to some extent but I practically don't watch any TV series and seldom even movies. Watching series or movies does not seem to suit for my brain very well. It probably has to do with my short attention span.

I guess then you wouldn’t have interest even in Vinland Saga. It’s probably the best depiction of Nordic/Viking culture in all fiction.

I'd probably at least give something like that a try, I have only ever seen live action movies/shows depicting vikings so that one could be interesting. However, if its originally in Japanese I'd certainly prefer the japanese with english subtitles...because one thing with a lot of animes is the english dubbing is so obnoxious. Like my brother was into Naruto for a while and I kind of hated it, but then at one point I watched some in japanese with english subtitles and it was much better that way.

I did like Dragon Ball Z when I was younger and I didn't mind the english dubbing on that one.

It’s a recent show so it’s not dubbed yet. I am more familiar with its original manga since it came out many years before this adaptation. I don’t really get to talk about the manga with anyone since it’s part of a very niche genre (historical fiction).

I've always wondered what a pokemon is. I'm not even sure that it falls within "animal, vegetable, or mineral."

Despite what a lot of individuals have posted, the fact remains that anime is one of a number of cultural phenomena that are widely known, or believed, to appeal to people on the spectrum, or more typically "nerd culture" which is not the same thing as the spectrum but is popularly perceived that way. One reason I am inclined to think my ex-girlfriend was/is on the spectrum is that she became an active anime fan (a full-blown fan, not just somebody who sometimes watches it) later in life and is still active in her 60s so far as I know. The only other woman I know who seems at least knowledgeable about anime is a work acquaintance of my wife's who my wife has told me is on the spectrum (although I can't recall whether she's actually been diagnosed). By which I mean anybody near our age. Of course my millennial son and daughter-in-law (both NT) are quite knowledgeable but most people their age have had some exposure.

I've watched occasional bits in the past. I can't think of a series I've gone out of my way to watch for... years? A decade?

I used to watch my fair share as a teenager, but these days I mostly watch western animations.

No, but my aspie daughter is a big fan. I have watched plenty of off-beat animation though. 'Wallace and Gromit' for example :)

I do not watch anime, but I do like cartoons such as Tom & Jerry and Bugs Bunny.

I just got really into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I have seen the anime but haven't read the mange. I'm guilty of not really seeing any other animes though.

Best Jojo is Joseph imo.

Well, I used to watch Hamtaro if it counts. xD

and I love the Studio Ghibli films.

I used to but it's been a while. I started getting interested in it back in 1999 when someone I knew in LA used to watch Sailor Moon a lot. At first, I thought it would be cartoon porn because of his deep fascination with it. It wasn't, but because of him, I started watching that as well as shows like Slayers and Initial D, and later, movies like Akira, Blood: The Last Vampire, Ah! My Goddess, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost In The Shell, and others. My interest, unfortunately, was short-lived mainly because the story lines were just too confusing to follow and you really needed a background in the book it came from before watching the movie.
