1.The northeast.

-High probability of harassment.
-Must fight if harassed.
-High crime.
-Abusive and offensive people.
-Left wing extremism
-Non-White racial extremism
-Islamic extremism

2.California.

-Gang capital of the western, first World.
-High crime rate.
-Ridiculous, extremist social policies.
-Must fight back if harassed.
-Way far, far the HELL out of line people, who are also abusive and offensive.
-Extremism, period.

Why are these the only two places that I can find and keep a decent job ?
These two places, are, for any other purpose besides employment....
Are horrible places for me.

Here's the deal here in the South.

1.Harder time finding employment, but can be done through agencies.

2. Harass me, and you will go to jail...all I have to do is call the police.
1 murder per year on average, and that's considered bad for this area.

If you Don't try to live for free or pretty close to it... you won't find too many problems.

Sounds more like you are describing the difference between big cities with a high population density and more rural areas with low density.
With higher demand, the safer and quieter neighborhoods end up unaffordable.
But, if your employment paid enough, you could live in a safer, more friendly area.

Your picture of the Northeast is just a little bit at odds with my daily experience here.

Why do you want to and/or already have look(ed)for jobs so far away?

I live in NYC. The OP is generalizing in the extreme.

If one is harassed, one has to “fight back” in some way in ALL locales.

I don’t know too many “left-wing extremists.”

Many parts of cities in the Northeast are actually very safe.

Sounds to me like the OP is doing lots of reading, lots of theorizing, but not really meeting very many people.

Varies by city and by neighborhood. Here in NYC, at least, your impressions are at least a couple of decades out-of-date. Crime has gone way down.

While these extremisms do exist, they are certainly not a part of everyday life for most people here, as far as I can tell.

Right here. I live in Pennsylvania and the crime and extremisms OP speaks of are relatively none or low.

Ace33, I've been in Boston since 1993, and it is seriously one of the most Aspie friendly places in the world.

The catch is that both salaries and rents are really high here, and so moving here from Arkansas involves taking a major financial risk. But we do have lots of jobs, so give us a chance.

Maybe it just seems that way because you are biased.

It isn't at odds with MINE!

Of course BOTH California, AND new york still have good parts. But those aren't the most populated, etc... They also aren't the highest paid, etc...
